I was in Arusha Tanzania last week, where they come from, and went to the Tanzanite experience lab and bought a small stone. Im so excited to turn this into a pendant with diamond's around it and white gold. It came with an authentication certification and all the info. Im super happy with my purchase directly from its origin.

You can get fancy tanzanites that are not heat treat with greens and blue/purple they are equality just as nice, but would that deam a lesser price point? Would they be less sort after?

I have a few yellows, pink, and a bunch of violet/deep blue. D block is just where local artisans mine their stones. I love the fact that all tanzanite has to be cut in Tanzania. They won't allow you to take rough stones out of the country unless they are considered specimens

Yes, to the best of our knowledge. Unlike diamonds (which has a more streamlined Kimberley process to certify the ethical sourcing of the diamond lot), Tanzanites don't have that yet. So, definitely an area where our industry can do better!

Periodically, you can wash your Tanzanite with warm water (and just a little soap) to keep it shining forever!

While there is no industry standardized grading system for Tanzanites, Diamondere along with a range of other leading jewelers follow a system that grades Tanzanites as Natural AAA, Natural AA, or Natural A quality gemstones. Natural AAAA Tanzanites are the top 10% of all natural Tanzanites available. They have an intense blue color with purplish tint and are “eye-clean”. These gemstones are rare and this quality is typically used in fine jewelry by the 5th Avenue or Rodeo Drive Jewelers.

Yes, most natural Tanzanites are heat-treated for accentuating it's inherent color. This is an industry-accepted practice and does not diminish the value of the Tanzanite.

Tanzanite is found in Nature. Nature is magical. So, I am sure if you look hard enough, you will be able to find a Tanzanite that is very dark and on the blackish color shade though this is not typical for high quality Tanzanites used in fine jewelry.
