Absolutely, the conflict among humans is manufactured, by those who sow discord in order to control us. Cultures are different, and those differences are wonderful and interesting; basic human nature is the same wherever (and whenever) you go. Thank you both.

Do you see the truth. We can’t know because of size. The bigger thing can see and know but the smaller thing can understand in a way the knower can’t.

@@billzepp69 what if I told you that your size is necessarily presupposed by your perspective? And what if I told you that the distinction between knower and known was also presupposed by that same perspective?

But i push all traditions away, i prefer a fresh observation of self, which is based in truth, but i don't judge those that do follow tradition. - it's not that you think your better than anyone, that is your assumption for people being authentic & independent, it's a self reflection, so you are as great as them, but you saying your not is your own meaning making, based on how your feeling of lack in self reliance.

26:17 - yeah it takes effort to focus, but people who are rebellious who dont use traditions are those that create such approaches that you follow, it's just some are innovative and self reflecting & some are more learning but not innovative in approach to there reflection, but those that create the paths you walk, once had to lay the way, and this laying of the way is the only true path, and others paths aren't your own, and therefore you saying others Can't be as good or what not is against what the truest path is of self, but i guess that is what happens when you go to far down a neatly laid path you start to feel comfortable in relying on there road to ease the mess of the path of self reliance that's not hacked or tended to at all, the only way that can be known is self exploration, forming your own way from what is.

I just left a comment sharing something rather personal, but also just wanted to tell you that your podcast is really nice. When I first got introduced with the slow pacing and the jumping into texts that are hard to read, I wasnt on board at first. But you make the philosophy behind these things extremely understandable, your voices are good to listen to and the occasional jokes or takeaways about taoism in connection to the mainstream world make the podcast relaxing but still very relevant also when it doesnt only comes to thoughts about oneself, but society as a whole.

Hey Gayung and Jason. I really enjoy your discussions. I've been studying Vedanta for a few years and I resonate also with Taoism. They seem quite similar. Can you explain why one would study both? Is there not enough knowledge in one practice over the other? You make many correlations between Vedanta and Taoism but wouldn't it be prudent to focus on one or the other? I'm not sure if one of your videos touches on the two traditions and the comparisons, please let me know where to find it.

It does not matter what you study. The only thing that matters, is your focus and intention. Religions rely on scriptures to explain the reality of our existence. Spirituality is built on your own set of experiences, so that you look within to understand the reality of your existence. 🕉️💜🙂

Hello Jason. I found your videos a few months back, really enjoy them thank you to you and your co-host. You talk about being free from government, news media, social media and move freely about. I don't know how to understand. What would be a Good government according to Tao? Does move freely mean in your country or the whole world? Through wu-wei we do not engage in the issues of the world, so how do we react to war torn areas around the world. I'm asking genuinely because my mind is so tight I don't know how to reason these things. Should we not provide medical or food aid and just let the war areas be until....they burn themselves out? How to live with the Tao and see the innocent suffering through war.....please someone, Jason put me at ease. I'm perplexed.

I just turned 18 and am very interested in different spiritual viewpoints, taoism being a priority. This stems from my father, as he often talks about it. But I wasnt interested because of the topic, but because he isnt the best and upstanding man and father. Grasping some core concepts of taoism like being humilious enough to accept the world as it is and thereby finding that the only option that will bring true peace of mind is trust and resilience, as a hope that will carry you through all times that might come.. i see now that my father didnt get that as it seems. Even though he has been studying this as well as other similiar topics for what seems to be his whole life now, it resulted into a man not being able to shut up about what he knows, about why HE knows it because of some kind of godly connection other than anyone else who is an imbecile, about why any thoughts regarding his stances shall be irrelevant if he is even listening at all. This whole situation is very funny as i have been developing the concepts of Taoism myself for a year now before knowing that they do belong to what is actually known as Taoism, not that what my father recognizes as such.

I think the Tao shows the illusion of free will but that doesn't mean that the past necessarily determines the future. There can be strong emergence which transcends the mechanical and simplistic view of causality.

What texts exactly are we talking about studying? Tao Te Ching? And what else?
@vencera2954

Criticism of Taoism☯️: The Tao Te Ching was not invented by an individual named Lao Tzu, but rather a reinterpretation of it. For example, the Tao Te Ching is found in the petroglyphs of Qianzhenli(川前里), in Alexei Okradonikov's collection of petroglyphs (tablets) from the Amur River region, and in the Aztec Mayan civilization. The Tai Chi symbol was originally meant to symbolize the sun, but Lao Tzu's own reinvention twisted it into a yin-yang idea. But why did Lao Tzu add the symbolism of man and woman to this yin-yang? Other accounts of Lao Tzu suggest that he advocated feng shui(Sex advice) as a way to become a god. After all, he was a perverted thinker with delusional tendencies, whose ideas reflected his aspirations as a subjugated people in the state of Zhou, where sexual desire was repressed. I am deeply disgusted that the Chinese, who are the descendants of these pseudo-thinkers, claim these sexual desires as thought, and honor Lao Tzu as a great man because he is their ancestor.

I don't agree that Lao Tzu would jump off a bridge. I think he would understand that even modern times dopamine rushes are part of the Tao. See, it's all part of the flow, even this "sick Era". Because all of this mess there are people waking up to the oneness. Even if human minds are getting squeezed, that's a small part for what it is, things simply are and the flow will flow where must flow, though there are lot's of blockages down the river.
