Thank you. These guidelines may help. 1. Stop having opinion about people. 2. Stop putting label on people. 3. Know that everyone is perfect. Just different perfect. 4. Do things willingly from the heart. If we think that we should or must do it, then dont do it. No forcing. 5. See things from a neutral perspective. We dont hv to assign meaning to anything. If needed, give it a positive meaning. 6. We dont need external reasons to support our actions. We do it intuitively and instinctively. 7. Trust the process and just do it. 8. When our energies vibrate at nature's frequency, people will drawn to us naturally.

Fantastic talk, yet another invaluable reminder for 'modern' ppl like myself. I find myself so easily still falling back into the trap of doing or saying something because I've been trained into believing I must act or speak in a certain way to be a 'good' person. These wonderful talks help to gently steer me back onto the path. Thank you for your wise words as always ❤️🙏🏽

Beautiful. A simple life and authenticity. What a different world we would live in if we could all return to embodying this. The conditioning is so OTT at the moment, having been taken into overdrive with current world events, that as you say people are more entrenched in this than ever, leading to intolerance, division, over defensiveness, etc. I must admit I’m taking some to time out to just be at peace. I’ve found it increasingly difficult to be my authentic self. Everyone has an opinion of what I should do, be, think, say and when I don’t fit their expectations I’m attacked. its exhausting. I just stay quiet but it saddens me to see such lack of empathy, compassion and connection. I’ve been contemplating narcissism a lot lately. We’ve seen a move towards this with the increase in things like celebrity culture and social media, whereby people create an image of themselves that is different to their own self (small ‘s’). This leads to another disconnect, purely within the ego. Narcissism is a fascinating area of study as at its most extreme there is no person/character/self…it’s just a void at the centre of the person. The human learns how to present as a person by watching, observing, emulating, responding to people and other external stimuli. Looking at this from a spiritual perspective…examining ego and the Self…it gives fascinating insights. From the perspective of AI and trans humanism it brings further insights. In a fully fledged narcissist there is a carbon based life form with a void at the centre (with a lack of humanity) which learns to emulate being human by observing, learning, trial and error, and by using this information to obtain its objectives. There is a lack of empathy, emotion and understanding. It begs the question what is the difference between this type of person and a robot? A truly fascinating area of debate. We have also witnessed how narcissists can develop guru or messiah complexes, posing as spiritual teachers when they are in fact ego lead. This can be potentially extremely dangerous to people’s well-being. There are many references to such things, such as false prophets and wolves in sheep’s clothing in ancient texts, but it would be fascinating to hear more about references from within Eastern wisdom. I know you did a short video a while ago about spiritual narcissism but it would be wonderful to see a more in-depth examination of this with reference to the Self/self, AI/transhumanism and what to look out for to protect yourself from such people. You have such a wonderful way of blending Eastern wisdom with Western philosophy and current events Jason, that a longer podcast on this could be truly beneficial. With appreciation as always.

…And from the narcissist’s viewpoint they place pressure and expectation on people to act in certain ways, with severe repercussions if they don’t behave as expected. This usually involves an attack on the person, including the placement of guilt, shame, or blame on that person to deflect away from the narcissist. Within any context this can be psychologically damaging, but within a spiritual or religious context the abuse is often more covert as it is given under the guise of guidance. This prevents the person from being their authentic self, whilst the guru gives the impression they are helping the person towards authenticity. This is why your video resonated with me on this issue.

Jason, verse 15 of the Tao is my favorite, I read it frequently. It creates wonderful free images in the mind as I visualize the ancients walking thru nature relaxed but alert at the same time. Simplicity was a key element. As I just moved to the other side of the continent, I learned this the hard way. I didn't realize that I became a prisoner to my junk. So much stuff to pack and haul...what a lesson. Another subject you both discussed that resonated, was the oppressive political correctness and humorlessness that so many people have adopted. I Know people who weigh your every word just trying to find a reason to label your ideas. They can't hear humor or what you say, just words. Well Brother, another thought provoking discussion. Thanks

Guys, today can only listen very very quietly , slowly to beautiful teachings and awesome happy silence . 💥Just be open and quiet like deep open valleys of mountains. Maybe Dao just pushes through and breaks down through all social crap and flows like a nice cold river and goes where it wants, even to very low places. Man it’s better to just go simple as hell. Love from Bernardo

It sure is far better to be as simple as hell brother. Just take it easy and not be blown here and there by the insanity of the world. The Tao will always nourish you if you stick to your simple nature. Love you brother.

Keep it simple indeed. We certainly do "over-employ rationality" today, to our detriment. Rx: Just be genuine. Jason, a line from your book really jumped out at me yesterday (Chapter 8-The Hypnosis of Duality, on Measuring Maya Through the Pain of Pleasure): "Fear itself is not our enemy because it acts as a guide for us to become more humble". That really spoke to me. Thanks man!

Here are some riddle. If the dao is to the right and the non dao is to the left what is within the middle? And another. If you intentionally and consciously don't follow the dao are you still following the dao?

It's indicative of the times that someone displaying these characteristics, describing followers of Tao, would likely be seen as a wimp. Calm the muddy water, It becomes clear. The subtle mix of intuition and reason, spontaneity and reflection, take place in the sage. Hesitancy may be seen as a weakness, but it is quite often just a sign of acting when the time is appropriate. Thanks Jason and Gayoung.🙏

Well said brother. The modern mind really finds the sage weird because our hyper individualism has dissociated us from our true nature as nature. Time to reconnect.

Non-action is not a form of doing nothing. Activity is present in the way of non-action, but it becomes an effortless process where the action and the person performing the action dissolve into one process, and into one form of non-acting. There’s no action, when the person acting is no more. It’s a unity between subject and object.

It's like any skill You work on it until what you do comes naturally. The result is an effortless intuitive action. If you play basketball you move to where the ball will be without thinking. If you are a runner you become the wind. An artist forgets the distinction between painter the act of painting, canvas, brush and paint and flows with his work. Non- action or effortless action of this type is called wu wei, where the greatest expression of skill appears to be natural and effortless to both observers and participants. Work becomes more like play It doesn't mean that you don't have to sweat at times to do it.
