Public Hearing:
C. Discussion and consideration on the appeal of David Maes, President of the Ranchos
Neighborhood Association (“Appellant”) appeal the September 12th, 2018 Decision of the Taos
County Planning Commission (the “Decision”) which was filed for record in the office of the
Taos County Clerk on September 26th, 2018. The Decision approved the Taos County Special
Use Permit (SUP-04-2018) submitted by Alex R. Abeyta, Abeyta Engineering, Inc. “Agent”
representing Chad Merchant dba Via Real Estate, LLC/7B Building & Development
“Applicant” to build an eight thousand four hundred square foot (8,400 sq. ft.) commercial
building to operate a Family Dollar Store. The 1.433+- acre property which is the subject of the
special use permit request is located at 1800 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur (a.k.a NM 68) in Ranchos
De Taos, Taos County, New Mexico.
