Great to hear! The 70+ original owner said she watched the video and took hers apart and oiled it when it started squeaking again. She asked her husband for a magnetized screwdriver for Christmas. My work here is done. ;[)

This is one of the best videos I’ve seen for any type of repair. I may not fix my humidifier but I will defiantly sub because the attention to detail (down to separating the tabs) is very appreciated.

Thanks for the sub!

Thanks! Had no idea about properly starting screws into plastic. Been doing it wrong for 60 years. Fixed that and fixed the noisy humidifier.

Glad to hear it was helpful and that your humidifier is quiet again.

Thank you so much! My wife was ready to throw this out, but I thought I'd take a look. Not only did this video confirm my suspicion about the noise, but your step-by-step instructions helped me get it running good as new! One note about my model: the fan blades don't appear to be removable; at least not as easily as yours. I was still able to clean it and lubricate it. Had to re-solder the wires that popped off, but otherwise smooth sailing.

This is the best video of the inside/wiring Taotronics TT-AH001. Really excellent instructions. I'm in a bit of a pickle as yesterday I accidentally dropped the humidifier and now it's not working - once I plug the unit into the outlet the screen will turn on and display all symbols, but then go back just to the time. When I attempt to press 'ON/OFF' the blue light inside the humidifier will flash for a second, then screen will display all symbols, and then go back to the time. So, no mist for me. When I opened the housing it was damp inside, I dried what I could have been air drying it. Any idea what may be causing the humidifier to malfunction like this?

Thank you for this! Quick question, can I replace the oil with WD 40?
@twincitiesfixit Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't. WD 40 is more of a cleaner. It will work, but won't last as long.

The WD stands for Water Displacement, to prevent rust. It's not meant to be used as a lubricant. Better to use silicone oil.

I'm getting this same humidifier. And yes I use distilled water. Don't want this to happen to me. I also put HP in the water
