Simple trick: take your tap water, run it through a filter to remove any impurities, then put that tap water in a bottle or plastic jug with a lid, shake the bottle for about 1 minute, then place the bottle in the fridge and remove the tap (freezer works just fine.) Chloride and flouride are gases in room temperature, and at temperatures lower then what water freezes at, so the shaking introduces energy which allows for the water and chemical treatment to un-bond long enough for the gas to escape, and if you keep the bottle in the fridge you allow for the chemical to remain a gas while the water is chilled. This is by no means a system of removal for all of the chemical, but you get a noticeably better tasting glass of water. Also, you don't need the filter, but it helps.
@Leumas34676 Жыл бұрын
Lowering the temperature of a liquid increases the solubility of a gas in it
@mitchelljones10814 ай бұрын
You really just pulled this out of your butt huh 😂 first off all that energy you put in shaking a bottle of water will be dispelled as heat and mechanical movement before it even reaches the fridge. Second off, like the last comment said, lowering the temperature will make gases less prone to evaporate even if you think fluoride and chloride are just going to start evaporate (they are ions dissolved in water and will not evaporate at room temp lol) better luck with just boiling the water after filtering.

What he says about drinking out of plastic bottles being bad may be true, but drinking soda pop out of plastic bottles is even worse, and there are more of those drinkers. Plus, many microwave foods get cooked in a plastic tray, which again, is even worse because it's heated plastic. Many foods and most drinks come in plastic, so it isn't just bottled water being a problem there. So if he's using that argument not to drink bottled water, he could be using the same argument not to be eating or drinking anything that comes in plastic but it's probably not realistic in today's world.

Unless there's a problem with the water in your municipality (e.g. Flint), then there's nothing wrong with tap water. I'm grateful you focused on this issue. I've been trying to educate people for years about this. People who have commented from foreign countries, you're right. This video is directed at a US audience. And you're also right that it depends on region. IF your region is subject to fracking, you can't trust the water (nor your regional government if it allows fracking!). But for a huge majority of us who are in the US and not in regions that are fracked, it's true that our drinking water tests to a really low level of chemical toxins. They want to avoid lawsuits, remember? What this video does not mention is the trucking of bottled water -- how it sits in flatbeds in the sun for miles. So the water in the plastic bottle has been heated, adding to the leaching, plus the carbon footprint of the shipping. Add to that the carbon footprint of the production of the plastic (COME ON! Have you really not considered this before???), PLUS the toxic mess associated with creating the plastic bottle in the first place. Do a lifecycle analysis on everything you consume and realize why the "Go Local" movement is getting bigger every day.

Fluoride is added to protect our teeth and the majority of bottled water is not fluoride-free either, being that Fluoride is a natural element - a chemical that is naturally found in rocks and if that groundwater is in contact with rocks that contain fluoride (which it most likely is), it will then actually have a higher concentration of fluoride in your bottled water, ending up with more fluoride in your bottled water than in tap water! Tap water actually has higher concentrations of minerals, like calcium and magnesium. Lucky for you though, that bottled water is actually around 64% tap water that is filtered to the bottled waters "no-stringent regulations" as opposed to tap waters high safeguards. With bottled water - you're paying $2.99 for the plastic bottle and 1c for the filtered tap water. Not to forget the "high-acidity levels", the dozens of microplastics you'll digest with bottled, the large amounts of oils used and the bottles that end up in our landfill. But, hey, it's your money, choice and health

You need a water filter fitted to your tap. Certainly don't drink bottled water.

Tap water is actually processed and bottle water is actually a good type of water because bottle water has pH level of 3 and tap water has pH level of 6 so it's higher and chemicals mix

People have been so duped by the bottled water industry. There are a number of issues with bottled water, such as it not having the nutrients that tap water has or fluoride that protects against tooth decay.

Okay when I was a kid back in 1972 the news came on and the news anchor said that when the water treatment plant screws up they don't always tell the public so therefore you be drinking some really messed up water also when I moved into the town I live in now which is South Carolina there was a note although it was on the floor rather than on my door that's how important they felt it to inform me that they were having trouble with the waters and then if you were elderly you're having health issues you probably shouldn't drink the tap water so yeah unless you're using a water filter I would highly recommend that you don't drink tap water straight

Run your tap water through a distiller and taste the yellow residue and ask yourself if you would add that back. Also take an environmental science class to learn about all the hazardous trace shit in tap water. True, some bottled drinking water is tap water, but do your research before buying it. Tap water is not safer than filtered, distilled, and most bottled water. This guy doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

NYC. The best water. Why people here would buy bottled water, I have no idea. Not only is it clean, but it has a unique body and flavor. When I drink it, it feels fuller. It coats the mouth, and sticks around a bit. Very quenching. being that it's a fuller body, you would think it's hard and mineraly. But it's not. It's very soft. Most bottled waters a flat with a plastic chlorine taste. The only bottled water that seems to have the same body is alkaline water my girlfriend drinks. Is that Fiji? I not sure, but it's pretty expensive. Yeah, I know, chlorine. All municipal and bottled water is treated with chlorine. Especially bottled water, that can sit in a clear bottle for months without growing Algae.
