This Master piece was done in '89 & it took us around 11 yrs to recognize these lyrics. Shorty died a pauper but the energies he left behind is priceless! The last time I met this Master he was chillin' out in the departure lounge of life at a nursing home! I spend about three hrs with him (many did not know where he was) and during that time he was falling in and outta sleep. He sincerely demanded of me not to leave, he had about 3 visitors that came and met me there and left me there!

He did not die a pauper. He left a very rich legacy of his truths, words, a wife. Beautiful children and grand children for a thousand generations. He is well decorated with many graces.

As a youth coming up whenever I heard this song I only think about cocaine/drugs. but as my maturity increasing, I can see how it goes deeper: Gangs,Alcohol,Sex>>STD's. the main highlight of this song for me is "I KNOW YOU’RE YOUNG AND RESTLESS---BUT---YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE CARELESS"
@sallysally93363 күн бұрын
That is just the surface level. The song is about spirituality; accepting The Most High as our Almighty Father and following His plans for our lives. The "sons and daughters in the four corners of the earth" are the real children of Israel, who we are, scattered just as the Bible says. This man was clearly awaken to The Most High's truth. This song was and still, in these last days, a plea to us. It's high time we wake up from that slumber my brothers and sisters. Our Saviour soon return.

September 29, 2024 and going strong. Remember this song playing in assembly hall at Ste Madeline Secondary back in 2000 which impacted the mindsets of many young individuals along with other positive local and conscious music around that era, we need these masterpieces to be played more on the radios compared to what is being played today and composed these days, these values and morals needs to be reinforced in the younger generation of today and music plays a part in the social lives and persons are affected positively and negatively based on what they listen to at some extent. Trinidad and Tobago is a beautiful place with good people.

The actual Sabbath day is, Friday. As you read Genesis you will see that the day ends and begins at sundown " and the evenings and the morning it was the second day"; and so on and so on. So, the Sabbath day begins on Thursday evening at sundown and ends on Friday evening at sundown. Google "bible, instructions for keeping the Sabbath".

Spoken: This song is dedicated to all my sons and daughters through the four corners of the earth. My sons and my daughters, to you I plead Watch, don't get no harrass but please take heed I know you don't want no sermon But my admonition is to guard you against all the evils of life That create strife and destroy life Walk cautiously, children, be alert Because you have an enemy that's roaming the earth I know you're young and restless but you don't have to be careless You see, sober thinking leads unto righteousness To happiness, spiritual bliss That's why I tell you this... Watch out my children! Watch out my children! It have a fellow called Lucifer with a bag of white powder And he don't want to powder your face But to bring shame and disgrace to the human race Leh we sing it again... Watch out my children! Watch out my children! It have a fellow called Lucifer with a bag of white powder And he don't want to powder your face But to bring shame and disgrace to the human race I give you my counsel because I want to see All you, young people, live righteously What you feed your mind with forms your characteristics And shape the path that you must walk tomorrow Darkness or glow, joy or sorrow That's why I am concerned... So, Watch out my children! Watch out my children! It have a fellow called Lucifer with a bag of white powder And he don't want to powder your face But to bring shame and disgrace to the human race You are young and your future is ahead of you Right or wrong, sweet or sour, depends on what you do Taking the wrong direction will drain your constitution And promote mental chaos and confusion Then corruption -------- a man And that is not God's plan Cuidado mis hijos!¡Cuidado mis hijos! Ha un hombre que se llama Lucifer, con una bolsa de polvo blanco Y él no quiere empolvar tu cara Pero para traer pena y desgracia para la raza humana

Dear People: There's lately (for me) been a narrative of the man Ras Shorty I, that I keep hearing. A narrative which I believe misses, and have missed the point of this dear man's life. That is, the narrative that Ras Shorty I died a pauper. As I recall it as one growing up in the time of his musical career and success, Shorty, found and pursued a new lifestyle. As such, he chose to pursue God and his (Shorty's) faith more. And as such, he pursued less his musical career at the time. As part of this new lifestyle - the pursuit of money and what all the world had to offer him - he turned away from. He no longer desired it. He took his wife and family back to the land - that is, to a simpler way of living - and truly pursued the God of the Bible and His Son Jesus Christ. Thereafter, when he returned, as it were, to the musical world, it was on his own terms. His music reflected much more of his faith in God, and thus, he would perform (bring God's truth, the gospel of Jesus Christ) in places where many religious-minded people would spurn - bars, etc. But, while there, he would sing about his God, God's way, and the truth of life around us. Shorty I did not die a pauper b/c of unfortunate or poor economic circumstances. Ras Shorty I chose that way of living way back in the 80s (if my memory serves me well), and with God's help turned away from things this world could offer him in order to fully pursue, what he calls in this video, "righteous living". For the Bible clearly told us all: "6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out." Same scripture goes onto say: 8 "And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 "But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 "But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness" (1 Timothy 6:6-13). Blessings to you all in Christ Jesus.
