Yes, I agree it made a big difference in the little house. The ranch is slowly coming together. I just need more time to make it happen. Thanks for following along with the project.

Really feels good to organize and get things up out of the way. More totes than I thought would fit on those shelves. Nice job.👍

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone interested in visiting the ranch later when it's ready. I will still be working on different projects around the place, though. I need five or six lifetimes to get everything done I want to do. Thanks for following along with the ranch build as always.

Yes, they made a big difference for the organization in the little house. I'm looking forward to building one of the domes to have some space to move all the tools and materials out of the house. Thanks for watching the progress.

It is looking good and very practical. It will make the work go faster too when things are somewhat organized. I recently watched a gentleman who made a frame for his solar panels. And he made and outer concrete ring in the ground on which a wheel that is attached to the frame and powered by an electric motor and controlled by a simple timer can drive, so that the entire frame with the panels is tracking the sun during the day. He simply let the motor run for 20 seconds every 25 minutes or so through a reduction gearbox so that the wheel moves very slowly. And every once in a while he tilt's the frame manually so that the panels have the correct angle to the sun during the different seasons. At the end of the day the frame hits a switch which changes polarity to the motor, and then the wheel drives slowly back to its starting position for the next day. It is a relative simple setup with a few switches, and it has been working for 12 years. The video is called....Solar sun tracking, 12 year report, track the sun, solar panels, home generation, extra power.... And it is from a gentleman with the name Andy Reynolds. He also wrote a book about these type of DIY constructions. Thanks for sharing 👍

That sounds like an interesting setup. With solar, your location will decide if it's worth doing solar tracking or not. In the ranch location, it is not worth my time. I will check out the video just to see the setup. Thanks for following along with the progress as always.

These are some great views! 1:00 If you extend the pond that way, it seems not only you will have to move an enormous amount of dirt, but also it will have some steep walls. Maybe at least 4m tall when full. From the camera/screen view maybe a disconnected slightly upper pond over there would make more sense?
@TimelineRanch
@TimelineRanch 15 күн бұрын
I have thought of that idea, but in the end, I think keeping the pond all the same level is the way to go. It's a win-win, I need the spoils from digging the pond to build the road and rock for all the other projects. Thanks for following along with the ranch build as always.

Batteries can release fumes if they go bad, so is it a good idea to store them in the basement? What do you think? By the way, you accomplished so much in just one day-wish I were half as efficient as you!

Thanks for the compliment and following along with the project as always. As far as the batteries go, the chemistry I'm using is some of the safest available. My battery bank will be LTO batteries. This chemistry has a low energy density, which makes it very safe to work with, and it doesn't contain anything that's toxic. That's why it's used in the medical industry heavily. It will cost me initially more. But the life expectancy is considerably longer, which makes up for the cost, in my opinion.
