Love this new way of video editing. More dynamic! BTW: I cannot difference what's doing beads or lubadh :).... but for sure it's fully experimentation.! Thanks for your time and effort creating all of these videos. Really appreciated.

Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it, the patch started out as an exploration of Beads in Delay mode, and that’s what I recorded onto the Lubadh, but in this video, you’re hearing those ‘tape loops’ being hand played by me, and also fed through Beads and Monsoon! So it is a bit muddled! And I’m glad you like the filming, I’m trying some new things, with new lights etc, 🎉

I was thinking about getting Lubadh to pair it with Beads so it is actually nice to see that it works very well. Awesome sounds!

@@kaerkiu9815 Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for subscribing to the channel! Yeh they can work well together, there is some crossover for sure, but they definitely excel in different ways, and together they create plenty of new possibilities (in my opinion!)

Cool soundscape, love the editing too!

I often use this combo! Two lovely modules! ;-)

Agreed! They’re a lovely pairing I find! The new tape emulation on the Lubadh also goes very nicely with the ‘red led’ quality mode on Beads, I could have endless fun experimenting with reversing and slowing things down, to then having reversed granules from beads too! It’s lovely!

Super cool. I've debated getting a Lubadh for a while. What's your favorite thing about it? Is there something you think it does exceptionally well that is hard to reproduce with other modules? Love the filming and the editing on this!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video, I’m experimenting with my filming so it’s good to get feedback! And great questions about the Lubadh, the tape loop idea in Eurorack is an idea I love, and I think the Lubadh approaches it in an interesting way, (I’d like a Morphagene but don’t have one) but I think it approaches the same idea in different ways. So I love that you can record a 9 minute loop, which you can then use as your source to feed back into your synth, as well as all the cool stuff with reel-to-reel recording and speed and size control! It also has a cool ‘tape age’ mode where it affects how quickly the oldest recording on the reel is overwritten so to speak, I hope that helps! Also I’ve got a few more Lubadh explorations planned in the future so stay tuned!! 🙂

I was just trying to decide about a Lubadh or not! I have a morphogene and not sure. It's an expensive module, is it worth it?
@megamodularis Жыл бұрын
Great question! I think they’re different enough modules that you could justify having both, and the new V2.0 firmware expands lubadh’s possibilities massively, I definitely don’t think I utilise them fully, but if you can envision enough use cases I think it’s a great module, and I’ll keep saying to anyone who listens, the tape emulation stuff in the new firmware is amazing! If I’m not using it as a looper in any way, I often throw my signal through it for the lovely tape emulation! And funnily enough I’m in the opposite predicament to you, owning the Lubadh, and trying to decide if I should get the Morphagene too, how do you find the Morphagene?

@@megamodularis , Morphogene is great. If I could only keep one module, that would be it!

@@rjschrei Nice! that's high praise, I actually just picked up a Morphagene and its in the case, just beginning to learn all about it, I'm loving it so far though!

really interesting............however I'm just hearing this in Mono, which seems like a really substantially missed opportunity...............

I’m glad you enjoyed the patch Will, that’s interesting, I’m listening to see if it is mono, I don’t think the patch was Mono, and I recorded it in stereo, so I’m not sure why it isn’t stereo! A good point though, two reels on the Lubadh, and the twin filter of the Ikarie, it should be stereo! (The whole signal chain is stereo from my memory of the patch) I’ll have another play around and see! If you have any tips on what my mistake might be, I’d appreciate your thoughts!

I just wanted to bring it to your attention, as I had that issue once.......
@megamodularis2 жыл бұрын
@@willswitchcraft Thanks! I appreciate it, I’ll pay attention with the next patch video I make, to check that everything is working properly, as my patches are usually stereo! You say you’ve had the same problem, do you know what the issue was for you?

For me it was that I was using a laptop and 'Twisted Wave' software to record my final audio. My wife works full time as a Voice Over artist, and so, by default, I'd set up my sessions as MONO, and was so caught up in my creative flow, that I didn't even check (I was listening to the direct output of my Virus synth, in stereo, with headphones, and I didn't even check the audio on my video properly before I posted it)

Thanks for the info, I’ll make sure to double check all my settings through the process, It could be something similar to what you say, along my process, or I suppose it’s possible that both channels were identical from source along the singal path (but I don’t think that was the case!)
