Thank you so much for this video myself I have thrown a net for years but never for shrimp. I'm really glad you actually did this underwater where you can see the difference.

Excellent video, thank you! This is new to me “tape net” but I am very intrigued... A gentleman introduced me to this yesterday evening and the results were pretty impressive compared to the 2 non taped nets that we were throwing. The result differences are drastic when throwing taped vs non. Thanks again for the excellent video!

Great video, thanks! A video on how you do the taping would actually be really helpful for us rookie cast net users as well.

Have you considered reducing the width of the duck tape? perhaps you’ll get the best of both techniques, increased sinking rate but maintain the good spread underwater? Gonna try it out myself.
@ReelHazardous3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried it but I’d be curious how it works. Let me know how you do.

What about a taped net with heavier weights? How will this effect top water cast?

What method are you throwing that net? I've never thrown that way and looks like it would work on my smaller boat

Great video, if you could show the effect of bringing in net on the un taped cast net

Can you catch shrimp on the St. John's near palatka or do you have to be north near Jacksonville? Thanks.
@ryanwillett7287 жыл бұрын
You can get the down there, but not in numbers. Head north a ways.

Is that a sweet mullet I see back there?

What part of the video do you mean?

Haha. I thought I saw one poking out on the back of your head. Couldn't tell for sure.

Oh gotcha lol. I thought you were talking about the baitfish type of mullet! We caught some in another shrimping video so I thought you were talking about that at first lol.

I watched that one also. I figured my comment may confuse. I should have mentioned something about the party I thought I saw going on in the back (business in the front). Keep those vids coming . I just moved back to Jax after 2 years in AZ and can't tell you how happy I am to be back near the water again. Your vids have me drooling to get back on the water. My old Aquasport has a 1996 Johnson 150hp which I love, but is a bit more work than I'm willing to give it. Bout to re-power and would like your thoughts on the Suzukis and who'd you get it from. Feel free to email or comment here.

i like the idea but i try to stay in shallow water around 8 -10 ft make good throws and you don’t need tape
@ReelHazardous6 жыл бұрын
Thats a good point. When we shrimp off a dock in shallow water we don't use taped nets usually either.

It might spread 4 X as much but it sinks 10 X slower 🤷🏿♂️

I need to figure out how to tape a net
@ReelHazardous8 жыл бұрын
Its not too hard to do. Just take 2 rolls of duct tape and start one on the top side of the net and the other at the bottom side of the net (starting at the same spot). Then work your way along the net being sure to squeeze both sides of the tape together tightly. Make sure you don't tape over your draw strings though!

Probably if he knew to throw it better i might help!
