@@gwenritch you can.. sometimes you just have to take a break when you start to not be excited over it in a good way or get frustrated.. then watch video again and try again . I have tried and tried the fair isle crochet beanie. For my sons football games. With a big heart , his name under that and his number in heart and his team Fh on back. Finally understanding it. After walking away and trying different yarn brands. Seems I needed a thicket one to make it look the way I wanted. You csn do it. I seen you posted this months ago.. I hope you figured it out.. hugs

Yes, I can be done in Intarsia, but the row count would be different since Tapestry is done using double stranded thickness which makes it work up a little quicker. :). Also, yes, using a light and a dark color together can be tricky, which is why I recommend the fleck yarns to camouflage it somewhat. So glad you learned so much!

Hello 😊 I’m getting ready to start my back panel for the letter M I ordered. I’m just curious why the front we chained 70 across and for the back we’re doing a chain of 65 across?
@TLBPatterns2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mindy, in my experience from all the color changing and tension required for the front panel, it creates a slightly more narrow panel at the same amount of stitches. So I use 65 for the back because I need less stitches to achieve the same width. That being said, you can use whatever amount of stitches you need to get to 18". This is just what consistently works for me.
@mbp_332 жыл бұрын
@@TLBPatterns ok thank you! I thought it was probably something like that! 😊

Just beautiful! I'm struggling with carrying colors and not having it show through either side, especially when using a dark main color with white. What tip do you recommend on carrying two different yarn colors? I'm crocheting a headband with three white letters. How did you make your graph? Thank you.
@TLBPatterns3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes, show-through is often not completely avoidable especially when using a dark color with a light color. You can try to crochet a little tighter or use a flecked yarn to camouflage it a little better. I use stitch fiddle to design my graphs. :)

@@TLBPatterns I got it figured out! One more question. If I use a 5.75 hook will it be that big of a difference? I have every size but my 5mm. Go figure. Thank you! 😊
@TLBPatterns2 жыл бұрын
You can definitely use that size hook, but if you come out closer to 13”x13” it might be better to go with the 14”x14” insert instead of the 12”x12”. 😊

Hello!!! if I do more colors I have to carry all too? since the beginning ?
@TLBPatterns3 жыл бұрын
Hi! When I use more than 2 colors, I use the Intarsia technique (a different bobbin for each color section). I have a video on that also. It might help to watch that technique because for more than 2 colors at once, I find it to be easier. :)

Question: left handed crocheter here. So for me would I read it backwards from righthanders?
@TLBPatterns3 жыл бұрын
Ok, so you will be crocheting from left to right, where I crochet from right to left... As far as following the graph, you will follow it right to left on all odd number rows, and left to right on all even number rows. The only difference is that when you crochet odd number rows, you will be facing the wrong side of your work (where I would be facing the right side) and when you crochet even number rows, you will be facing the right side of your work (where I would be facing the wrong side). Hope this helps! :)
