So what you did was to take the floor prep it then put down white epoxy and then just paint the black on top of the epoxy is that correct? Question 1:what kind of durability did you get? 2: what kind of paint? Did you cover it with a coat of clear epoxy?

Any advice on the taping? Or anymore video on the taping process?
@JohnnyDrivebye6 жыл бұрын
For some reason people have been commenting on this lately. I may have to edit it and give more advice. I have to say what made it a little easier is to find the center of the room so you end up with equal sores on both sides of the room. And do not let the paint see sunlight. It’s very sensitive to color change from that.

Any way to make a video on how you did the taping? Thats the part were im lost and i cant find a single video out there showing it.

Oh hi. I didn't see this until now. I will try to find something for you and link it here. If I can't find something I will make a video for you but it may be a week since I've been pretty busy lately.

Would you put a clear coat over this?
@JohnnyDrivebye6 жыл бұрын
You can. I'm not sure if it would be necessary but it may give the floor a more glossy look. We did think about doing it but thought that it looked good enough without it. I suppose it would come down to cost and personal preference.

It sure does look spinky! You did a great job. Did you have any problems with tape bleeding? I am thinking of doing grey and black, or grey and orange.
@JohnnyDrivebye6 жыл бұрын
If you have a new floor you probably won't have bleed. This floor was already 7 years old so we had to touch up a bit. I recommend using the higher quality tape.

How well is this holding up to vehicle traffic? Do you need to apply barefoot?

What are dimensions of the squares? And what was your dry time I was thinking about doing this to my basement but I'm not sure if I can until the summer because of ventilation

Matt gra iT has been a while but I think we went with 10 inches and we used Rustoleom epoxy for cement floors. I think it was 24 hours but you can go to their website if you want to know for sure. I’ll leave a link here when I get home.

What type of epoxy did you use? I thinking of doing my trailer floor
@JohnnyDrivebye6 жыл бұрын
It was a Rust-oleum product. Is the trailer floor cement?
@eric992236 жыл бұрын
No it’s wood. But I talked to Rust-Oleum this morning and they told me what to use

Great job wish you did some commentary on how you did layout but I guess it’s not as hard as I think just time consuming

This was one of my first videos I did. I was thinking about adding more to it. The one thing to do first is practice on a smaller area so you know how to do the taping pattern. Tedious is to say the least. I think it was a day and a half of just taping.

How long did it take?
@JohnnyDrivebye7 жыл бұрын
The floor was in rough shape so the prepping was about 3 days and the painting took 2 days.

Ha You are suddenly unknowingly seeing one of my clues for a knowledge hunt that I've been working on. I'm setting up clues over my facebook and youtube channels but have no idea what I'm going to use as riddles to solve yet. I guess it will be knowledge/treasure hunt. LOL. I guess your disqualified now. LOL congratulations on being the only one but me that knows about this.
