Question - have you experienced any problems with the electrostatic shade coming loose overnight when temperatures are cooler?

The windshield and rear window also absorb energy. I've got a car umbrella on order that should protect the entire vehicle and not take too long to deploy. WIll report.

I still prefer the two piece design with the clips. I can do it myself in a few mins and have the option to remove half of it if I want to let some of the light in. Plus no washing required. 😊

Understandable. But wow 40 degree difference is huge!

Good question! If it was a “styling” decision I think there should have been an option to delete it. (Like sunroofs on just about any other car on the market)

I wished you would have mentioned it ships from China. Does not stick at all. Return is very involved with no return shipping and 20% restocking fee. The size and color match is terrible. The electrostatic stickers are a mess to clean off the glass. This was $100 wasted. Customer service was notified that it didn’t stick and they responded with the original installation instructions. I don’t recommend.

Thanks for sharing your experience for others. Ours is still sticking just fine. I will forward your comment to my contact at Taptes. I only share products that I've used, believe in and continue to use daily, and not just for a quick, small commission, like other KZbinrs. Update: I have sent an email to Taptes, along with your comments. I have also unlisted this video to the public. A side note: they don't pay their commissions either.

Many people don't want the glass roof at all. A hardtop with nice cloth headliner is preferred. Glass allows sunlight and IR to heat up your scalp in the summer. Why doesn't Tesla offer a metal hard top?
@pk-762 ай бұрын
If I’m not mistaken, the original “$35K” version Model 3 was supposed to have a metal roof to save costs.

Warm day... 115 in Phoenix 🤣

Why not just get the electric sunshade or tint the glass with heat protection? This one seems be too troublesome needing 2 people in sync to get this thing put up.
@TeslaTipsTrips3 ай бұрын
I'm guessing the electric one is far more complicated. Tint helps, but not quite as effective.

Too expensive

@@TeslaTipsTrips ceramic tint dissipates up to 95% of the heat, but I read/heard that it 'might' cause the roof window to crack.. unconfirmed. cost is about $300 for the top or $600 for all of the windows on a tesla model y (excluding the Windshield). I had my old Nissan Rogue Sport done with ceramic tint and thinking of doing it to the MY.

I’ve got ceramic tint on the roof of my 3. It does help, but the glass still gets really hot. No cracks in 5 years. That urban legend started with lazy tint shops I think.

Seems like too much work. Two people needed isn’t helpful for this kind of product that you want to be able to take up and down. Thanks for the review.

40 degree difference is worth a little extra effort.
