@finalglidaus: The reason your sounds are wrong, is that you have upgraded to OpenTX 2.1, but NOT upgraded the audio pack. In their "wisdom" (read: misguidedness?) they changed the numbering of the audio files between versions... god knows WHY... as a programmer, that's just a thing you never do - but they did. So you need to download the sound pack for OpenTX 2.1.x

you can honestly get like 7-8 hours out of the stock battery, nothing wrong with it. what I did though was make a battery pack out of 8 rechargeable AA batterys and it does last forever it seems like.

Awesome need to know info here as I have never flown a non RTF drone. Just the other day I purchased the Alien RR5, and everything that was shown besides the TBS antenna. only thing you did not have in stock was the immersion RX :( I hope to have it in the air by the end of the month, yes that is a long time but I am very meticulous when I build anything. Glad my electronic soldering skills will be of use. I am sure I am going to make a photo log of the build. I have my GoPro but I don't feel like recording all of that. can't wait to get started!!

@markhebel74997 жыл бұрын
The stock battery works almost to spec. Maybe the short run time resides in the Tx charge logic. I cycled 3 different stock X9D packs to look for the average . The manual claims 260mAh is what the X9D pulls with the back light on. I haven't measured it myself. Using a cellpro set at 260mA cycled 3 times each pack. Results in 9 measurements averaged 6.8 hrs. The shortest time was 6.5 hrs...

That part after 12:05 got me thinking a little... What happens if the Arm Switch is already set to ON the moment you provide power to the Quad? What happens if the Throttle Stick is in the UP position the moment you toggle the Arm switch? Yeah I had this happen to me with a Quad flipping over during a disarm but if any of two questions prove my inner suspicion then hell no... This is by no means how I'd suggest a safer way to arm a Quad. Especially not *after* showing the audience how to disable the Switch Warning on the remote.
@FinalGlideAus8 жыл бұрын
The FC needs to go through it's startup procedure and calibrate things first on startup so it won't arm until you recycle the arm switch if you ave it armed already. You cannot arm on any throttle setting except for min throttle. If you are plugging in your quad before you turn on your Tx then you are asking to be part of the Darwin Awards anyway.

It's a personal choice, of course, but the advice to turn off the switch position warnings seems wrong to me. There are so many switches on the Tx that it is easy to change the position of then during transport or when getting the Tx out of its case. The warnings are there to make sure that you really do start with them in a known and safe position rather than having to remember to put them there. Having seen your advice to arm via a switch I feel it even more important to have switch position warning turned on. It seems to me that arming via a single switch is more dangerous than via the sticks as it is much easier to do by accident.
@nimbuslayer51428 жыл бұрын
A proper preflight will take care of any improper switch settings prior to plugging the battery in.
@Bob_Burton8 жыл бұрын
A good preflight will take care of many things but why not accept help when it is available.
@FinalGlideAus8 жыл бұрын
If you are worried about that then only have the warning on the switch in question then. Plus note that the throttle must be fully down to enable the arm switch to do anything. It is impossible to arm with full throttle.
@Bob_Burton8 жыл бұрын
What happens if the throttle is down, the switch is in the armed position and the quad battery is then plugged in ? Is the FC armed ?

Unless the new Spektrum receivers support S.Port, you won't get this type of telemetry which I doubt Spektrum will do.Hopefully I'm wrong
@clintcollins8 жыл бұрын
+FinalGlideAus hmm... I'm following the two developers of the new spektrum satellite with telemetry on RCGroups.com and they assured it would have full telemetry including RSSI. I'm definitely hoping as well. We shall see...! Thanks for your reply, Chad! I love watching you guys! It always inspires me to push my limits when I watch you guys! Cheers! -Clint
@FinalGlideAus8 жыл бұрын
The telemetry needs to communicate on the same language as the gear it's connected too. For a lot of stuff that is S.Port. Spektrum has a history of not wanting to use what is already out there but I do hope they make that compatible. Combining Telemetry support and a more solid radio link and I would jump back on Spektrum quite quickly.
