I owned them as pets and they're honestly pretty cool. dopey little creatures with varying levels of confidence, and some do seem to be switched on (as much as you can be as a bug.)

All I had to see was Jason's face in the beginning and I was laughing. His facial expressions are one of my favorite parts of these videos. Also, there is no way Emily is not aware of her habit of saying the worst "fun fact" about these creatures right after she gives them to Jason to hold.

I think he made a brief appearance once when Tiny was brought on the show - he’s a handy guy to have around when a big beautiful snake friend needs to be draped over assorted television presenters!

Pretty sure Ed is the one handing animals to Emily. And he did indeed make an appearance with Tiny. He’s justifiably protective when it comes to anyone, but especially Emily, handling the very large constrictors & prefers to be present if possible. It’s useful to have a large, knowledgeable human around just in the rare case one of the big ones is in a bad mood or honestly, overly playful mood. When a big snake decides you’re a fun jungle gym, it’s best to have a muscular friend nearby.

See, and I’d be freaking out over the cockroaches and the millipede. Millipedes give me anxiety and I’m basically phobic of any kind of roach. But I would be all over the walking stick bugs (they were my favorite critter as a kid. I collected them in my yard all the time) and the hognose. We all have our things that fascinate us and the things that we are less comfortable with.

I used to be afraid of tarantulas ... then someone let me hold one and told me if i dropped it, it would die. I changed to its protector. Knowing now i was the one in charge and the obvious more powerful being. No reason to be afraid.

Hey sorry if I missed it, but please throw out the disclaimer that iguanas are difficult to keep. Not a good first lizard, or first big lizard. That said, they can be tamed down and make one of the best pets.

11:25 So for a summer job one year, I actually got to work with this crazy creature (and the Hissing Cockroaches) but Jason’s reaction was exactly how I reacted when handling this bug. I’m not scared of most bugs but when this one was crawling over my hand it felt like Velcro moving over my hand. It wasn’t until I looked at its moving legs that I felt ill because it was just like a rolling wave of little legs.
