Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw [Verse 1] Crying every night Can’t hear any voice I’m still fighting this battle but I’m losing Until when, I’m lost, I’m tired I thought you were still mine but not anymore Is it really over? [Verse 2] I’m lost in the darkness I’m lost, I am confused What am I to you? Who am I to you? Here where I lie There’s a weight on my chest There’s nothing but sadness There’s too much pain [Chorus] I want to let go But my heart won’t let me I want to let go But there may still be hope I am fighting against myself Who should it be, me or you? I want to let go [Verse 3] If my sadness is your happiness If my defeat means your freedom If all the wounds in my heart is the cure to yours Well what about me? Should I just give up? Should I just let go with all my heart? My heart has weakened I'm losing my hope [Chorus] I want to let go But my heart won’t let me I just want to let go But there may still be hope. I’m fighting against myself Who should it be, me or you? I want to let go I just want to let go [Bridge] I’m crying my heart out when no one is listening It never ends up in something good. A love that is wrong. Now, I’m choosing myself So I can love again someday Will we ever love each other Will we ever love each other again, (Oh) [Chorus] I want to let go But my heart does not want to yet (Oh) I just want to let go But there may still be hope I’am fighting against myself Who should it be, me or you? [Refrain] I want to let go I want to let go (Oh) I just want to let go, let go, to let go I just want to let go [Outro] I’ll choose myself now Letting go, I’m letting go

She can literally do that vocal break any time she wants to. Same with the growl and whistle tones. Have you seen her video of her singing a whistle tone for two minutes? Morissette has a latent husky tone in her voice that lends it self to those squeaks or breaks. Just like Steven Tyler or David Lee Roth can produce those kinds of sounds only theirs is more prominent. Morissette's will turn up when she is laughing otherwise she produces that crystal clear notes we are used to. I was going to use Delbert McClinton the great Blues singer as an example. Rod Stewart could probably do it if he chose to. I think you have to have a particular vocal quality available to you to be able to squeak on command. I'll bet Angelina Jordan could produce that sound as she has that latent scratchy voice. Actresses that have that vocal quality are Susan St. James and Angie Harmon. Anyway I don't think just anybody can do it I think the mechanism has to be in place.

Here's a fun fact: you can't, because no one has ever pulled this off without either being incredibly pitchy/worse riffs and other offs. @JoeyAndamo Жыл бұрын
@@m.butterfly7452No, no, no! The way this song is arranged requires a singer with a mastery of two singing modes: 1) Light, vulnerable, intimate voice; 2) Big, heavy, guttural, gritty, "rock" voice. Morissette is the one OPM singer that *genuinely possesses* BOTH the light, vulnerable vocals, plus the gritty, guttural, heavy "rock" vocals. It's hard to find a singer that has mastered both modes of singing. Many have done a great job covering this song, but Morissette's vocal 'interpretation' of this song remains the standard.

This is a combination of Filipino rap that is quite popular in the Philippines’ song industry now. And then the usual ballad and “kundiman” (a type of Filipino love song that’s very dramatic). I think it makes the song interesting. But what I like about what Morisette has done with this song is that she honored the original singer’s technique. The original singer always sings in high voice, uses a lot of belting and growling, and speaks a bit fast (in her language)
