She cant belt as high or as powerfully as J Hud, but she sings with greater versatility, better overall technique, pitch accuracy, vibrato, far greater agility, volume control, elasticity between registers and an overall greater supported range. The laymans or average joes are always impressed by the obvious vocal qualities (e.g power and high notes) and overlook key components behind the sound production and delivery.

With regards to her doing crescendo to decrescendo back to back, it's kind of her thing, I would say it's one of the things where she excels vocally.
