Every bowler struggles a bit in non friendly conditions, and it's not the first time starc was bowling in the first inning but yesterday he's lines and length were better, I'm not actually saying that he changes into something else when knockouts come but yesterday he bowled better than what he was doing throughout the tournament and he's a big match player you can't deny that

In 2019 world-cup semis he took one wicket with en economy of 9, in 2021 T20 WC final, he had conceded 60 runs for his 4 overs. So it's not like he purposefully bowls bad or purposefully bowls better depending on whether it's a knockout or not. He matches well against left-handers but would have been a different spell if he bowled in 2nd innings with a small total to defend.
