TARDIS Redecoration Upgrade - Season 13 Control Room changes to Season 15

An animation of the TARDIS console upgrading itself in secret, which is revealed to have happened prior to The Invisible Enemy.
During Season 13 the TARDIS console room was only seen in Planet of Evil and Pyramids of Mars. The following year, whilst the Doctor was showing Sarah around the TARDIS, a wood-panelled control room was discovered, and that became home for Season 14.
When the Doctor returned to the white control room with Leela in The Invisible Enemy, the Doctor notes that it's been closed for redecoration.
So here, in as much detail as I could, are the two control rooms, and the change between them...

I love how it simply redecorated the console, rather than changed the controls like how it does now. No wonder the TARDIS keeps crashing! I'd be confused on how to fly it too if the controls kept moving about 😂

I actually liked the effect of the roundels having no back lighting in The Warriors of the Deep and only lighting the set minimally from above when the Tardis is hit. This is a good video though!

Brilliant video.It shows how the Doctor can change the console room to any style.Not only the console room but all the TARDIS rooms and corridors too.I would love to see a video of the bricked walled corridors changing into the same decor as the console room with roundels.The Doctor would have programmed this to happen at some point between Invasion Of Time and Logopolis.

I liked this one-off control room of Tom Baker's , but it does need a proper scanner and they never showed the rest of the Tardis or where the door leads to.

I preferred the earlier Baker version. If the redecoration hadn't been mentioned, not many of us would have noticed at the time as there were no videos and we'd only seen it twice and, besides, we were used to it changing now and again, anyway. Good work, as always.

lol I'm sorry but I almost forgot what I was watching due to the amazement of Dudley's Score being proccessed by the BBCRWorkshop! Stunning sound. They really do put Murray to shame. It sounds so Alien & menacing. Great Stuff! I've never really wanted to know what everything was on the Tardis console. I liked the Black & whites best where Bill & Pat would have a Button for any situation! The Fluid Links! lol

Season 13 control room and console was superior, shame that it was not used very much. I can only think of Pyramid of Mars. It must have been a redress of a Pertwee area set.

It first appeared in Planet of Evil although Pyramids of Mars was shot first. It does look similar to the Pertwee console room although a design flaw meant that no scanner was built into the wall. They ditched the set for Season 14 as it took too long to set up for what usually amounted to a handful of scenes.

I like it. In my head the changing effect would be more glowing and possibly regeneration-like - though the trailer for Portal 2 with the testing centre rooms reconfiguring themselves with walls made out of independent panels mounted on robot arms made me think that a very mechanical transformation could also be fun - but a straightforward rollback-and-mix is very of the period. Also shows the hilarity of the ever-shrinking TARDIS console room from the 60s right through to the early 80s...

Physician Whom Well you're forgetting the brown alternate console room which was used for a season in between, but yes, I always did prefer Pertwee's/T. Baker's first console room.
