In 2015 I was able to go to The Doctor Who Experience, and they took us all on a tour of the TARDIS set afterward. I stood at the top of the stairs and though "I could be on this show!" Then I immediately slipped and fell down the stairs. 😂 Our tour guide also worked as a PA on the show and she came up to me and said "Don't worry, Matt Smith did that all the time". ☺️

This is one of the things that distinguishes the New Who era from the Classic one: at 7:31, the Doctor mucking in on the soccer pitch-getting involved in his companions' day-to-day lives: playing soccer, busting out of the cake at a stag party, working as a shop clerk. Just try to imagine any of Doctors #1 through #6 (well, okay, *maybe* #7) doing this sort of thing. It makes him/her less of a mythic figure and more of a relatable, human character. I like it.
