I like the looks of it! But I'm thinking a tardy escapement must have a tendancy to run slow. LOL

It is elegant as far as symmetry is concerned, but there is a lot of redundancy in the design, One inertia wheel can be totally discarded as the two pawls are linked and so they are under positional and phase control all the time.

The two inertia wheels operate in opposite directions, so as to reduce the effect of the motion of the ship on the "pendulum" (which is essentially the function of the wheels). This design is intended for use aboard ship. John Harrison had similar designs with contra-rotating wheels.

Without getting into theory remove the RH Balance and cut the lever off just right of the escape jewel. Still high friction and wear. Geometric and dynamic recoil shown. Drop and draw seem OK. Any advantages may be over ridden by the disadvantages I reckon. Although very expensive these days I am of the opinion that the Swiss Jewelled Lever escape driven by barrel and fusee a la Zenith is difficult to beat for timekeeping unless one goes Quartz !!.
