Thankyou. I enjoyed this so much , it’s great to see something that’s so reminiscent of my youth banging around in a race . Loved it . Remember , this car was made with the door hinges on the ‘outside’ . A cheap family saloon from the BMC stable , still looking good all these years later . I’m after an A40 Farina at the moment , to use as a daily driver . Why ? Because I don’t have to take it to a garage when things go wrong. I once changed a head gasket and had the car running again , after only 20 minutes. The engine was a B Series and my friends couldn’t believe it when I told them . It would of cost hundreds for any of them to get the same job done on their BMWs or Mercedes’, and taken a lot longer too. Thankyou all ,,,,,,,,,,

Nice, very nice - I learned to drive in an A30 on the sand at Barassie beach, Troon in the 60's - after so many miles and so many cars nothing compares to the A30...

I wonder if that's a column change? The A40 I had many years ago was & it was a bugger to get into gear!

About a yard long stick shift from memory. We had an A40 too and yes the gearbox could be tricky. Heading down a hill once and the brakes went and tried a quick shift from 3rd to 2nd. Must have pulled out the knob and it went into reverse. That stopped it. Forever.

@@Steve2316 The one I had, the previous owner painted it with a broom then mowed the lawn which stuck to it! That was my 2nd car, the first was a Morris 8 which a school mate & I bought and shared, he sprayed it gold and put a playboy sticker in the rear window. Dad would not allow me to park it outside the house, which was ok as I had to park it on a hill so I could crash start it.
