Targa Top Adjustment C4 Corvette

I try and demonstrate how to adjust your Targa Top on a C4 Corvette so you can remove and reinstall it with out any more hassles than is necessary.

Excellent video good sir! This is on my to-do list for this week. Just picked up a smoked blue glass top for my 94' and it doesn't seem to be sealing very well in the front. The fiberglass top was perfect. Hopefully this will help it a little!

Do you yourself a life changing event, change out your front torx bracket bolts to regular 12mm or 13mm headed bolts. Then get yourself a super thin wrench in that size and you can adjust all you want without the silliness of taking your trim/car apart! Wrench =$10 4 bolts = $5

It can be a bit of a pain 😖, but if you like driving with the top off it's worth it, it makes it a lot easier when you go to put the top back on.

Hello on your tara top when you have it mounted and when you check the inside of the top does it look even on both sides seems like my 85 like its not centered i have been looking online and there's nothing showing the inside of the top was wondering if the back plates might have moved at one time the car is in storage now and i can't get at it lock up till april

I honestly can not remember, but I believe it was centered.

Great video and very informative... I have a black 95 i just purchased 2 month ago... Was your top making a rattling sound when going down the road before you tightened everything..?

No, I have never had a raddling sound from the Targa, every few years I have to make adjustments to it otherwise it becomes more difficult to line up the bolts.

My rear brackets on my 85 top might just be worn out might could re tap the threads but more than likely I'll have to replace them. I guess I'll see what happens. Nice video 👍

@@Joe8648 I would remove one of the bolts from the rear of the Targa Top and try screwing it in, good luck 🤞

@@E.T.GARAGE they screw in they just don't tighten the threads on the bolts are a little worn but not terrible the brackets are probably stripped im guessing I'll get it figured out .
