Target practice on public land in Alberta: is it LEGAL?

The reason that you got such a quick response was the fact that someone actually asked where they can fire their firearms for target practice. I imagine that they don't get too many calls like that because most people probably go out and shoot wherever they want and hope they don't get caught.

The other area is ghost land use, aka wiapourus, which is just north west of Cochrane, on the forestry trunk road.

You forgot the most important thing: should be at least 400m away from any trails.

I would see about that area between markers 72 and 114 and shoot up the draw it should have a good backstop and side protection. You might have to drive a little more but I see you can get there on the purple lined roads. Just my observation.

reach out to local gravel haulers they have pits they haul out of and might let you shoot in the pits when they arent hauling
