Hi Tim and Jenn, a tip to make your towels a bit rougher is wash them a couple of times in just detergent and no fabric softener and then every time you wash them just add detergent and no softener again! Hope this helps x

@TheTimTracker Re: towels 18:50 When I buy towels I too try to find thick ones, but I think the key to getting them to feel rough is to not use any sort of fabric softener in the wash. If you do, it keeps the towels softer and then they do not absorb water as well as they would if you omitted the fabric softener.
@jamiekernc99252 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you need to strip your towels. Detergent, and most fabric softeners, cause towels to repel the water. They get overly soft, and don't absorb as well. It's pretty easy to strip them. Also, try using vinegar instead of any softeners. I find the beach towels from 5 Below to be thin, and absorbent. We prefer them!

I’m enjoying these home videos so much!! Never can get enough of Jackson! Jen I was just reading an article explaining that babies and young kids don’t always know if they like a new food because it’s all new, just keep offering things so they get used to all tastes and textures. I know even as an adult some textures just “taste” odd. Thanks for sharing your day, it reminded me of the older videos with the Target 🎯 trip. Take care of yourself and hope you feel 💯% soon Tim.

Cutting Onion trick... put a little fan to push "fumes" away from you. Also read that you should try to have a super sharp knife because you have less "bruising" of the onion which causes more "fumes" to be released. Love you guys!!
@casswoof15692 жыл бұрын
When you buy new towels always wash them in the washing machine and add a few drops of dishwashing detergent into the wash. Wash that wash without fabric softer. It helps to strip the production chemicals from the fabric and makes them more fluffy and absorbent. If u want towels that are less soft dry them outside in the sun like we do in Australia 🇦🇺!
@kaym.89652 жыл бұрын

When my child was learning how to read i found this interesting tip. I took index cards and wrote common household items on them and stick them on that object. Like curtain on the curtain. Wall on the wall. Cabinet on the cabinet. It helped them associate that word with that item and in turn helped them learn to read. Jackson may be a bit young but since he is interested in the spelling this may be a fun thing to do with him.

That is awesome that Jackson was so excited about the rocket launch. When my dad was little his dad's tractor mechanic shop made parts for airplanes for the war. That started my dad's love of aeronautics. He took me to the Air and Space museum at the Smithsonian and Hanger One at Moffett Field as a kid. My Dad was an airplane mechanic working on cockpits (electronics) for United Airlines for 33 years. There are video games that simulate air flight. Also, Snap Circuit Jr kits would probably keep Jackson busy! It says 8 and up but like I said before, my son taught himself to play chess at 2 1/2.

At about 3 years old my daughter wanted to be an astronaut. She talked about it for her whole young life. She then went to the University of Florida and got a biology degree then on to Eastern Florida University to earn a computer engineering degree. Guess who she works for now? That’s right NASA. Gently encourage your children to achieve their dreams. Sometimes they know exactly what they want to be at a very young age.

We’re from the UK and love visiting Walmart when we come to Florida. Walmart is huge in comparison to supermarkets in the UK. And literally sell everything! The variety of absolutely everything is amazing, the amount of different flavours of chocolate, Oreos, fizzy drinks, crisps etc is incredible! Honestly, you’ll be so bored if you shopped at a supermarket here, and saw the lack of variety!

That baby Yoda sounds like a Furby! Kids buy more things today that’s why the stores try to make displays more appealing. Hey Tim, Speaking of the Kennedy Space Center, I’d love to see a video you’ve never done before. It might turn out to be your best video yet! It should rival your Ninjas at Rebounderz video. The “zero g experience” takes off and lands where the space shuttle used to land. Yes, it’s pricey but maybe they can give you the media discount. Best part, if Jackson wants to be an astronaut and he likes your video, he can test it for himself once he’s 8 years old!!! Now that you sit in that part of the couch, you can understand why it was Bandit’s favorite spot. Will you still be putting his photo on the wall in that area?

Fun 2 days! I love home vlogs😊. I'm looking forward to seeing what Jackson took pictures of haha, that's going to be cute! Woo Tim I hope you didn't do anything major to your knee. Please do go to the doctor, just to be sure 😊. I remember when my son was a newborn, I was getting him out of the backseat and when I was stepping out from the back, my foot got stuck on the bottom of the seat belt and I fell out of the car holding him. I was able to shield him from hitting anything but the impact of the fall with his weight and my weight landed all on my left knee. I remember getting up and walking, feeling pain and then my knee was numb. It freaked me out and the pain lasted for a while (like weeks) and then it felt okay. I didn't go to the doctor and I should have cause every once in a while my left knee will go through these periods of time when it hurts for a few weeks then goes away. My son is 18 now...18 and that fall still haunts me 😂. Thanks for attending my Ted Talk lol. Huge hugs and love to you guys xoxo

Towel thing in my family too, key is to use them for over 20 years, maybe even 40, then they are perfectly thin and also nicely scrubby. Gentle & silent competition for the best ones ongoing always. Why no one can make them like that to begin with, no idea. Also not sure modern towels will work out well in 20 to 4o years, no guarantee.

3 thing I've always had a VERY hard time picking out/being satisfied with over the years are towels, sheets, and pillows. So the struggle is real! You might also check to see if our grocery store develops film - a lot of them used to, it was usually a little area near Courtesy where you picked up your picture. I SOOOOO want to go shopping at Target or WalMart with the two you you - you remind me of my fiends and I, back in the day. Miss those times - wandering around, just looking at/commenting on stuff, cracking up. Love what an adventurous eater Jackson is. Socially distanced hugs to the 3 of you from New Jersey. Stay strong, stay positive, stay healthy!

This is seriously none of my business but I know you are trying for another baby and I'm praying for you. You are such amazing parents and I'm sure Jackson would love a brother and/or sister. I was just watching a you tube on a man who went to Poland to help his friend, a priest, with Ukraine refugees. They were saying they are taking care of 20 orphans at a hotel. You two were the only people that popped into my mind that you might want to consider adoption as these children are in dire need. You both have a kind and generous heart! I don't mean to stick my business where it doesn't belong...it took me time to build courage up to email you about something so personal but you are such a loving family something just felt right. Tim..I hope your feeling better ...I was just in the hospital and pains no fun! .Happy Birthday too!!!

Ophthalmic tech here, it might be the material used that makes the prism/distortion. Polycarbonate can sometimes do that, may try plastic instead? Or also the coatings can do that.
