Never surprises me to see the ignorant expressing their twisted opinions in the comments section of such videos. Tariq rammadan speaks sense in what he says and makes a good attempt at reaching out to people of all backgrounds to stop and reflect. There is no need to start vomiting your own insecurities and fears in your life with islamaphobic comments about Muslims.

Wassiq Ghaffar Sprinkling bullshit with glitter and perfume may make it look better, but it'll be still bullshit in the core. All the nice things he said, stripped of religion would be wonderful. But he's using those nices things as the sugar coating to make a poison pill taste better.

Oh my, if only you took a step back and realize how ridiculous your words are. Evidently you know little to nothing about the truth behind Tariq Ramadan's double-talk and pretentious pose as a reformer. Have you ever bothered listening carefully to what he says and how he behaves differently before an audience of non-Muslims from that of all Muslim audience? This man sells snake-oil, a master of deception or "Taqiyya" Don't take my word for it, listen to TRUE reformists like Tariq Fatah and Zuhdi Jasser. They are both muslim and know better on how to read between the lines of closet Islamist and Jihadi sympathizing snakes like Ramadan and a long list of others.

Tariq Ramadan is a great thinker, but I believe in this talk he wanted to convey many things in the short 20 minutes, so his speech was not as powerful as usual. He could have spoken about only one topic and slower to better get across his idees and to influence the audience. Anyways, it is nice to finally see him at TED.

Thank you for your powerful and uplifting words. Too many time we all forget that in every Religion there are many of its Laws that are no longer practiced by any reasonable Human being. Unfortunately there are some unreasonable Human beings creating suffering for many, too many others. We need to clearly see which are which. I personally use a simple rule which is: if anyone, any group, any religion is encouraging or inciting me towards violence and hatred they are not to be listened to but vigorously argued against but all who desire peace.

Taking a look some of the comments, some of those who disagrees with Mr. Ramadan are even Muslims. This proves that it is not Muslims vs non-Muslims, but in fact, it's Tariq's philosophical views vs opponents. Mr. Ramadan, thank you for this incredible speech, and no wonder, people, who can't be at the level of your philosophy that you present in this speech, would disagree with you.

This guy is a Politician for Islam... no matter how smooth and suave you try be in glossing over Islam's aims, no matter how calm and cool the smoke and mirrors exterior may be in trying to assert that Islam has applications relevant to and useful, in the secular world, the fact is WRITTEN... Unbelievers will die... in the end, when the call comes, all those believers will stand by their Faith, to the END. The world would see dark ages unlike any others before it... bleak... they would burn your books and cover up your women, who wants that? You can't repackage Islam and make it Middle Class or cool or acceptable, you either do or you don't. I couldn't give a SHIT how well this guy comes across... he is like a Politician to me... fronting for something much more sinister...
@DilemmaMo10 жыл бұрын
You obviously have a problem with your "self".
@coffeewoffee10 жыл бұрын
*Faceplam* Disagree :/ Islam does not aim to make you a believer, only Allah can do that. Although it is our duties as Muslims to try and guide you, but even then we couldn't. In Islam, the aim is to worship Allah and to remember him and implement our religion into our daily lives. Like praying five times a day, giving charity, fasting, going to Hajj, and believing in Allah and Prophet Muhammad sullullahu alay wasalam. Now he didn't even mention any of that. He isn't even saying we should put all women in niqabs (that is the women's choice) or making Islam a cool or Middle Class. Islam works with all walks of life, hence the diversity in Islam. I would like to emphasize that, he talked about commonalities within all religions/spiritualities. Not just Islam. He barely mentioned Islam at all, but you see that's the beauty of Islam. It already encompasses the values of other religions. He's calling everyone to action, first and foremost starting within ourselves, which will automatically spark action.outside of ourselves. A call to action of people of all faiths for a inter religious dialogue and to work together for making the world a world a better. An instrumental task, don't you think? Now what is sinister about that?
@kylemole552110 жыл бұрын
No problem with myself, that's why I don't need religion to fuck my or anyone else's life up.
@DilemmaMo10 жыл бұрын
kyle mole Well look man, if you don't need religion than just be respecting of others who use religion as a means of maximizing the goodness that lies within all of us. I was just using the pun to kinda emphasize what the speaker, Tariq Ramadan was saying. But again, I'm not denying that others could nurture there own goodness but many see and use religion as a "greater" way of facilitating this goodness we have. Also consider what Rose Li said, she makes a great point of what should be understood from religion and should have been understood from this talk.

I don't find this guy particularly convincing, but he has a point when he mentions Buddhism. Islam could learn a lot from Buddhism.
@erokawaiisakura10 жыл бұрын
Ferdinand Celine Islam does not have to learn anything since it is a religoun. You have to clearly learn about islam.
@abarker455310 жыл бұрын
agira khan That's a powerful statement you made there, my friend. If Islam thinks it doesn't have anything to learn because it's a religion that could be the reason many people regard it as inflexible and fundamentalist. Just a thought. As for my original statement. I think all the Abrahamic faiths could learn a lot from Buddhism. Buddhists certainly don't kill each other with nearly the same frequency and barbarity.
@cheabjeli10 жыл бұрын
Ferdinand Celine One point fellow just to clear a lil bit the point you stated above. Islam does not need to learn from Buddhism, same as Buddhism does not need to learn from Islam. But, muslims should learn from Buddhism and buddhists from Islam. By that way, we can achieve the true happiness and sweetness of life, which is the message Islam provides like Buddhism.
@erokawaiisakura10 жыл бұрын
Ferdinand Celine They kill others.... what makes it better... So that says it is not the faith that says that, but the people do it ... why? because they are people...
@abarker455310 жыл бұрын
agira khan I think there is a lot of evidence to suggest that people are hard-wired to co-operate with one another. I don't think the people kill people and religion is benign argument is particularly convincing. It's truly unfortunate, but it does seem that religion is doing an exceptional job of dividing people with extreme consequences. Any religion with a hardline regarding how it should be practiced and how it views others, be they of other faiths or faithless, is going to create problems. I myself have no faith, but I am reading about different faiths in order to try and understand the link between faith and violence. Nothing I have read so far would indicate that faiths are genuinely peaceful. It's an incredibly nuanced argument of course. People are effected by geo-political forces, socio-economic forces, culture and so forth. I've heard people try and explain away the violence according to some of these factors while omitting the role religion plays. I think it's role is significant. I also think the problem cannot be suitably addressed by pretending that something so powerful has a miniscule role to play in the violence that is daily occurring around the world. As regards my earlier statement about Buddhism. It appears to be one of the few faiths, if faith is indeed the right world, that does not advocate violence in ANY way. Even when I read about the Samurai of feudal Japan and their adherence to Zen-Buddhism I could find nothing in the Buddhists texts that advocated violence.

He was speaking to his audience. A da'e needs to approach each audience with the way that would grab them. If he speaks of just the Quran they will say he is biased and wouldn't observe everything he is saying and take in. There is nothing wrong with getting knowledge from different sources. Some of the stuff he is saying is based on islam and other religions. As long as it's not wrong there is nothing wrong with using other sources. At the end of the day, the best form of Dawah, is Dawah with one's state. When someone admires his character and knowledge, it might trigger them to search about Islam and think, why did a great mind like him choose to be Muslim? I hope this added to your thought :)

Professor Tarik Ramadan and the French justice : They did imprison Denis Diderot, the architect of the Encyclopédie , he had access to one book he possessed at the time he was arrested " paradise lost " which he read during his incarceration . Jean-Jacques Rousseau was prosecuted by the Paris parlement, and the Marquis de Sade, despite becoming a writer in prison, was not permitted any remission of his sentence . Jean-Paul Sartre the one who declined so called official honors when he refused noble prize in literature in 1964 . He publicly appealed in the mid 50s to French soldiers to refuse to serve in Algeria, and many voices were raised to demand that the existentialist philosopher be prosecuted in accordance with the law . The law .... THE SAME LAW actually which kept professor Tarik Ramadan nowadays behind the bars , accusing him of " rape charges " proven false accusations "Created by the Zionists propaganda in France 🇫🇷, his accusers are changing times , places , hotels , dates as they wish and the Judges waiting orders from above . This what is called independence of justice in France 🇫🇷 Professor Tarik ramadan's health deteriorated since he was detained in a Paris jail “Tariq was walking the day he entered prison, today he comes to the visiting room in a wheelchair.” His wife said Where the French government stands today ??? Basic human rights are missed !! Anyway , Some of you would ask about the reason that lead those Zionist to imprison professor Tarik Ramadan !!! The reason as follow : His creative work spread across a number of fields all over the world , defending the values of Islam , supporting humans rights , standing for justice and getting involved in the territory of Zionism through opening the public eye on their satanic plans which they promote through the Corrupted media . (value degradation since the roaring 20s up today ) They could not manage to cope his truth and sincerity and that's why tried to put an end to this through keeping him silent in prison . That's the case when you get involved in such a territory " hyenas territory " so your end would be in prison , least scenario would be Victor's Hugo when he felt threatened, he chose exile instead. Hyenas are ugly villains that only eat dead things, sometimes lions, sometimes even humans. Then they whoop with laughter and this what Zionism stands for . The whole of 🇫🇷 France is a desert , at least in justice term . Freedom for professor Tarik Ramadan inchaAllah .

This is indeed a true quote from Tariq Ramadan himself -   - "My brothers and sisters, we must exploit the so-called democracy and freedom of speech here in the West to reach our goals. Our Prophet Muhammad... and the Koran teach us that we must use every conceivable means and opportunity to defeat the enemies of Allah. Tell the infidels in public, we respect your laws and your constitutions, which we Muslims believe that these are as worthless as the paper they are written on. The only law we must respect and apply is the Shari’a." Obviously, Tariq Ramadan is an enemy of our entire civilisation and people. He must be exposed for what he is.
