As I was observing the scene/vision of Tariq holding up & embracing his son with Cane aiming a gun at him, I couldnt help but see the similarities & potential callback of Ghost embracing Tariq with Kanan aiming a gun at both of them in S4 right after Kanan killed Jukebox to save Tariq but doesnt pull the trigger & leaves the scene. I might be overanalyzing but it reminded me of that moment in S4 of the Book-1.

This misguided philosophy of him being on top will be what protects his family only proves his confusion and warped perception!

The question is does Tariq still get it yet? Meaning what his father warned him about the consequences. Little by little riq does have remorse what he did to his father. Yet learning from Kanan he was too stubborn. And kanan never saw anything past the streets the corner. Ghost Next move always was to get out the game. Tasha and Tommy was against Ghost moving on. And now Tasha regret not listening to Ghost To the point she wants no part of the game. Problem is she at first encouraged Riq to be in the game. Hell Tasha don't know what's happening now. Riq wasn't straight up when Tasha asked if he was in trouble. Good dope analysis on Tariq's hallucination scene.

One thing that I found interesting about the tejada family breakfast was that Monet agreed with cane that Tariq broke their family and they need to cut everybody off and get back to family first but she wants to use his baby to fix it which means that she plans cutting him out of his child’s life and will most likely turn lil Lorenzo against him which would ultimately result in Tariq’s son doing the same thing he did to ghost because given who his family is it’s inevitable that lil Lorenzo will be in the game

from Tariqs perspective him going legit is something that can’t happen based on the decisions that he and his family have made and even if he tried to get out he would just get pulled back in somehow someway just like ghost did and it’s sad to say but the moment Diana decided she was gonna have the baby was the moment it was the game as it’s both a St. Patrick and a Tejada on the top of the fact that she wants it to have the same name as her father and brother two known drug dealers and murderers one of whom was convicted and later murdered so she’s already pre determining its fate off that alone at this point Tariq and his family are always gonna be in the game whether they like it or not and Tariq has chosen to accept and embrace that

Thank you for the saying it at 9:29-10:05 I like Ghost but he was as hypocritical as everyone else, played everyone around him especially those closest to him for his own benefit and gain, wanted to keep saying i'm clean/legit but would go back to selling and killing to get his way, trying to control everyone, their moves and futures. Whether it be for a good or bad reason he was still controlling their lives how HE wanted them to be not how they wanted their lives to be. Ghost could never go legit because he did too much to go back and too much to go on. Even if he became Lt. Gov he was just going to be as the same Ghost, James St. Patrick the civilian was no more once he joined the game. Tariq will get his karma too that's how the life goes

Theory: “Sins of Father” SPOILERS If you watched FX series “Snowfall”, then you understand Franklin Saint’s fate was set from the beginning of the series. Ultimately, Franklin’s punishment/fate was to live his Father’s life… The very thing he hated the most. In the Power Universe, Unique said, He was already in this….before he was in this…. Tariq’s fate/punishment rests with lessons Ghost tried to teach him above all others (Kanan, Tommy, Tasha, Dre….) But more importantly, consequences/punishment of his father. Most people understand, we eventually resemble some form of them. Tariq is no different. He will be punished from the same sins as Ghost and possibly later in life the same way.

It’s no secret I’m not a fan of Tariq. That being said, this is the narrative beauty of Tariq character. Tariq got his sister killed, set kanan up which got him killed, kill his father which led to his mother get arrested and ultimately putting her in witness protection. Tariq essentially gave up everything to be a top drug dealer. There is no going back for him. That what dream sequence represents to me.

It’s not that easy, plus like the dream, he wouldn’t be accepted as a permanent part of the Tejada family especially from Cane even if he went legit. You don’t need to leave the game to have a kid. What you need to do is be honest and transparent with your kid about what you do and who you are. Ghost and Tasha never told Tariq about how they really came up, never went back to the old neighborhood, etc and that’s what pushed them further apart.
