This woman taught me to sing and find my voice. I have a very over developed head voice and under developed chest voice because for five years in middle and high school I only sang Nightwish songs (there’s no Nightwish without Tarja). I mimicked her tone and tried matching her pitch. It worked too. I can now hit very high notes with an operatic sound. You are still my queen Tarja!

To me, this performance is a close second to the Nightwish End of an Era performance. Both are brilliant. With Tarja’s performance and that of the band plus the arrangement, I do believe that this could have challenged the Nightwish version , maybe even bettered it, IF the Phantom could have matched Marko. I agree with other commenters that instead of continuing to build to the climax he kind of just stopped. Whilst being good, he sounded like a guest singer, which he was, rather than being a member of a tight knit band. Still being a close second to the Nightwish version is still very high praise. Love the crowd’s involvement by the way.

OH my goodness. Tarja recaptaured her glory singing with Marco in Nightwish. Mike Terranna kills it, and he stays RIGHT in the pocket. What a guy. What a brilliant performance by ALL of the players. And once again, what a great song.

After a second listen, Marco really stepped up and kicked ass at the end of the original NW version............and this guy just handed off the final vocals to Tarja. Just serves to illustrate how incredibly talented and cohesive that first Nightwish was....and why they produced such magic.

After a second listen........then going back to the original...one of my ALL TIME FAVES , Marco really stepped up and finished the song with powerful vocals. This guy let Tarja finish it herself. Teranna IMHO would have been a better replacement for Jukka, but NW did not get him : Tarja did. He hits hard and perfectly in this song. No ego fills or showing off. Jukka approves I am sure.

Sorry, I on the other hand, find Nightwish to be far more dynamic and have a far greater vocal range with Floor. Don't get me wrong, Tarja was great for her operatic vocals but that was all she had. Even when Tarja belted she did so in an operatic style, not in a rock/metal style. Floor has shown that she is able to transition from operatic vocals to hard rock/metal belting and metal growls, often within the same song. Consider this, most compare Floor to Tarja based on how well Floor can cover operatic songs written for Tarja, like Ghost Love Score, but I have yet to see Tarja able to cover any of Floors metal songs where she would have to deliver Floor's metal growls, such as Floor's work with Revamp.
