Man, I would have given anything to have been there for this. What a stellar performance of a great Nightwish song with the original vocalists. I love Floor, but Marko and Tarja were the singers who made me fall in love with the band all those years ago. The fact that they are finally back together singing on stage is a beautiful thing.

Having a different opinion isn't hate. I enjoyed both of them back in the days. But Nightwish evolved and they couldn't keep up. I was at their concert at the beginning of the summer. Tarja is amazing as always. When I came back to her a few years ago, I was surprised by the change in her voice, but now I see that she sounds much better than in Nightwish. She has a much wider vocal range - not just the operatic one. What she performs, for example, in Rocking Heels: Live at Metal Church is incredible. I saw her last year in Dark Christmas - and goosebumps. Her recordings on Dark Christmas, Outlanders, or collaboration with the composers of The Witcher series? Come on, these are incredible songs. And I'm not talking about her cover of Angels by Within Tempation. This would have been impossible in her NW days.

Tarja needs to avoid using to flat/harsh a tone on her shorter phrases and words, like when she starts singing here. You can sing with an operatic/round tone and do it softly - she's done it herself before - she needs to stop being scared of being too operatic. It's her bloody calling card!

Can't help but feeling that this version isn't quite it. Just like Floor now doing his part isn't quite it. (and yes, I realise Tarja was the 'original' here). I also can't help but feeling a little upset that Yesterwynde would have been a 10/10 instead of a 9/10 with his aid. On the bright side and to be fair, his new Frankenstein song is very cool as is 'Better left on Mars'. I'm quite upset that I had to miss their shows in the Netherlands recently.

That's because they are 20 years older, out of shape, sharing the stage with a band you know nothing about. It was like watching my aunt and uncle at a karaoke bar trying their hardest to fit in with the cool kids nowadays. Delivering a great performance is not just about the way you sing. Kinda hard to enjoy the moment when all I see are two people way past their prime trying to impersonate a younger version of themselves.

I searched the web and I can't find a single shred of cheating evidence, drunk evidence. Just so you know: Nightwish is a Secular Band. In other words, they literally do not believe in God, and they prosthletize that now. Tribal is pretty direct about that.

That’s pretty stupid. These two suck without Tuomas and it shows clearly in this performance. I don’t even want these two in the 30th anniversary celebration for Nightwish. One was fired justifiably because she was unprofessional. The other one acted like he had no issues with Nightwish when he left and then afterwords does interviews saying otherwise. And btw, she told that to the other band members, that's the reason she wasn't able to participate in the band's activities, yet still they asked her to leave!!! The fact that he is recording new songs with Tarja and performing old Nightwish songs live feels strange to me. I agree with you. Probably they got the rights for sing Nightwish's songs as courtesy of Tuomas, for repair relationships, or maybe by legal right. Maybe Marko was tired of being under the shadow of the relatively young tormented poet Tuomas is (apparently), and being an old man, maybe this feeling was his "mental issue"; after all, a "mental issue" is everything that can cause psychological pain, and being the pawn of a timebomb can be stressful (Tuomas fired Tarja without anticipation). Finally, maybe everything is a show and they are friendly coworkers making drama for amuse their public, or making excuses to cover boring causes like simple alignment changes for style changes, re-release their career as Marko would have done lying with his "retirement", or even religious controversies, as I imagine (my hypothesis, I don't have any evidence) it ocurred with Anette, who released a clearly christian album recently while Marko's Nightwish have been walking the... scientific way. All of them are adults, thay have their own business and ways, and we probably will not know the truth, so better enjoy their music and not to distract with silly drama (I am atheist and I love Nightwish's Once and Dark Passion Play, and Anette's "Hear the Call" song); it's sad, but that's probably marketing, or a decoy to make us understand they don't want to tell us everything about them because that's their private life or a boring event.

Nightwish used to be a fast-paced power-metal band that would give you chills in the span of three to four minutes instead of taking you to a metaphysical journey through the wonders of mother earth. So they have the rights to play the songs that made their history as well. Its not exclusive to the current band. The current band is far from its original setting as well.

Watching my friend leaving, creating ostacles, thoughts like : is this still Nightwish without them and then seeing them doing Nightwish, in memory of those time they were part of, you know, Nightwish. Its about emotion I would have if I were Tuomas. In fact Im little bit sad being myself. Marco wanted to be out of bussiness, out of all that attention. Now I see him with Tarja. Sorry, but this is a very pathetic sight. Two fragments, trying to pretend that everything is fine and speculating on the music and the author, thanks to whom they have their fame. Taria, who left the group imagining herself a great opera singer and was eventually forced to return to the same genre that she hated, because it turned out that no one needed her as an opera singer. Marco, who with his whims and arrogance spoiled his return to the group, now perform together as two ghosts of the past. Sad. It would be better if they retired if they are not capable of something truly worthy of attention.

You have no clue what happened. Tuomas ousted her and accused her of not participating in practicing and trash talked her husband as a bad influence that distracted her from the band. In reality, she was a perfect range, and had already started Tarja (her solo project) within a month or two of being kicked from the band. Her first cut, second cut, etc are all beautiful music. Most of it isn't covers, but original writing. All of the band members have had mental breakdowns around Tuomas, and the ones who have left seem happier than the ones who are in. I liked Human: II but Nightwish isn't what it used to be, and Floor does NOT sound better singing songs designed for Tarja. They have gone into secular propaganda and chaotic stages since then. It's like what happened with OOMPH, except the opposite. In OOMPH, the band kicked the religious guy. In Nightwish, the secular Keyboardist kicked the band.
