She isn't "copying", she's doing a cover. She's paying homage. Personally, I think Kurt might have been very flattered if he knew his song was going to be honoured by such a beautiful singer.

Sou fã de Nirvana, já havia assistido diversas vezes esse vídeo (e nunca me canso!) "SLTS" ficou maravilhosa na voz dela, eu particularmente a-p-a-i-x-o-n-e-i porque a Tarja deu outra interpretação e acredito que se o Kurt estivesse vivo ele sentiria um imenso orgulho desse cover, mas entendo quem não curte, afinal não é obrigado todos gostarem, como dizem "Gosto é igual cu, cada um tem o seu".

Even Pavarotti has been judged badly and even been booed off the stage, it's part of being an artist, sometimes people love what you do and sometimes they don't. So if you wanna live in a fairy tale life where everyone loves Tarja and everything she sings, even if she sang rap, then again this public comments page is not for you cause clearly there's a bunch of people right now writing comments of dislike to her cover right here, not just me, that's if you can open your eyes a little more.

Tarja's beautiful voice is not suited to this song, and the bluesy piano backing isn't either. As a musician and someone who likes to experiment and improvise, I understand the creative license for doing such things - but the energy, grunge and definitive dark energy of the song is sort of ruined by this version.

As a fan of Tarja and Nirvana.... I actually love this version, I understood what she was trying to do.... I know is a grunge song.. but if you notice she is in a beauty pageant or something and the way she sang it it's just perfect for it.. And the piano is very good... She is not the only one that make some soft cover out of a heavy song. She is the best!!

As much as I like Tarja. Sorry in my opinion Sharon den Adel did a better cover than that. If Tarja wants to do a cover I think it is better off if she chooses a song that suits her singing style. But hey that is just a opinion.. she can do whatever the hell she wants.

I agree that this is not Tarja's territory. Whether or not you like or dislike Nirvana is irrelevant. Nirvana is one of the MOST influential bands in the history of rock music, a fact that many critics worth their salt will agree with

I find this very interesting. Tarja's voice is amazing. I'm sure all the nirvana fans that don't like classical music, are stabbing themselves in the ears at listening to this. Tori Amos did it in this style. I like all three known versions. They all have their certain qualities about them... Nirvana with the raw power, Tarja with the operatic, and Tori with her particular style.

Yeap, me too. I wish she would play this song again :) And besides, the lyrics, the place she is....it's like she is mocking it with the song. "It's fun to lose and to pretend" "With the lights out it's less dangerous, Here we are now, entertain us, I feel stupid and contagious" like moking the fashion show, "I'm worse at what I do best, and for this gift I feel blessed" you know, people often underestimate her when comes to her sing. I think the choice to do the cover was very personal.
