Tarkov Arena: Was It Worth The Wait?

Hello my friends and welcome to the channel for a quick little review of my first day playing Tarkov Arena after it released. Honestly found it fun, but am questioning how long the fun will last!

My biggest concern is the balance regarding the carrier trees. Looks like they choose the Wargaming/WarThunder way so you have to grind through tiers of loadouts but looks like the matchmaking doesn't account for that. At the early days its somewhat okay because everyone has the lowest tier loadouts but later this will be a big issue. For example, you went up to like 5 tiers on the CQB line but decide that you want to try out the Scout line too. Now you will be put in lobbies with people who most likely will have T5 loadouts while you are only at T1. You already locked into your loadout at start and can't change it mid game so it would make sense that you choose the loadout you want to queu with and you got matched by that and maybe adding skill based after that.

Idea for new maps. Octagon shapes with 8 possible spawns to negate grenade spamming at the beginning of a round.

I do hope we get better map design in Arena, like you said if we can start getting CS grade utility use on maps it would bring Arena to a new level.

That would be a good idea, several CS maps were created by the community. BSG could take the best maps and integrate them into the game officially and the developer would get paid for their creation.

Imagine having gun tiers and then random matches where you'd receive any operator within a specific tier to keep the balance. That'd be a fun game mode imo, and even for ranked matches. Maybe a gun game? There are many possibilities. Edit: Cool video, some fresh positivity it's appreciated.

Being aggressive seems to be very rewarding - my experience so far. Also stick to one kit to keep levelling to get better kits.

I feel like the loadout system where you can't customize your guns is a great idea tbh. It prevents people from just constantly running the meta m4 or sa58 builds which I think makes it more enjoyable

I hope they add a respawn mode like team death match with easier team identification possibly remove friendly fire (i know sounds casual) but i just dont have time anymore to get good i love the feel of tarkovs gunplay but would enjoy something i could just jump in and have some less high stakes gameplay

No issues with them phasing but they should say what the phasing is, when they are letting more in etc saves people needing to chekc emails all the time

There are definitely some animations that are too slow for how fast and frenetic the combat is. In fact, they already seemed slow in EFT, but in Arena they are even more annoying. I agree with you on everything. Also in the future they should allow the community to develop their own maps and pay developers for their work. As it happens in CS.

Eod user from 2017 to 2020 should have gotten first dibs over streamers imo let use get a head start for once. Rather than the person who gets to play 24 hours a day. I love CS but I really don’t want cs 3 lane maps. TBH I feel the last good mp fps maps came from halo 2, halo 3, the og cod 4: mw, and og cod:mw2. I want free form maps that just aren’t the same formula ad nauseam.

As a gamer who is finally sick of the COD meta. I enjoyed Battlebit, Insurgency Sandstorm, Battlefield, Counter Strike and a bit off Squad. Is Tarkov Arena a good choice I never bought the original Tarkov just watched a lot of streams of it.

However OG users that bought EOD back in like 2016-2017 are being robbed by players who bought arena 2 days ago. the least they could do is actually give the game first come first serve like how they were advertising instead of giving popular streamers/content creators first. The cherry on top is the fact that the word "Soon" is being thrown around everywhere. Just give us a fuckin time and date at the very least so we're not sitting here wasting our time waiting to play a 5v5 game mode.

They started phasing out EOD so it’s like no biggie. But for real, hell yeah brother, been waiting so long for eod. I can hardly find enough time to have worthwhile raids. Just wanna lose my stuff faster in arcade mode. Hoping that the vaulting system is a worthy addition to both games, hopefully with some kind of burst firing allowed. Cuz why wouldn’t you try to pop a shot of vaulting into cover in real life? Maybe not with all the weight! Damn it Tarkov with your intertwined realistic stats.

Quit tarkov and got into cod. I think cod is very fun because u can hop in get kills and feel good without sweating too hard. The progression is honestly somewhat better. Grinding out camos, operators and weapons. The new zombies mode is basically tarkov with zombies. Really think cod is awesome rn. I’ve got enough frustration in life tarkov just adds more to it and is a lot less fun. I get the game would be great for no lifers but for normal ppl I feel like tarkov is too hardcore.
