Crashing is the best part. It sucks but that's what makes it fun. Good thing you replaced the motor mounts.

one thing i'd like to add to my 450 build would be a parachute for incase a motor gets fried. simple piece of plastic with some strings attached just to slow the fall and make sure i don't destroy the frame. i had a 3.5kg nitro plane that crashed because a an aileron control rod come loose in flight. instructor tip stalled it trying to save it. dented the back end of the receiver pack and busted the balance plug. the rest of the airplane was completely destroyed on impact. a week later right before my birthday my dad ordered a new airplane and i was back to flying that weekend. took an entire afternoon at the rc club with three guys helping to get the new airplane in the air. when the first one crashed i was ready to pretty much give up on the hobby. but i learned the hard way that its better to just keep trying

I am going to build a Tarot 650 Sport with retracts like yours. I bought MN5008 400KV motors but will be using an APM 2.8 controller as my needs are pretty modest. I'm hoping for 15 min endurace using 17" Tarot two bladed props. Stuff has been ordered, just waiting for deliveries.

I was looking at the specs of the new motors you are using and it appears that they can run in an 8s configuration. However, you would have to upgrade the speed controllers and get new batteries. I’m not sure how the motors would handle in terms of heat with the props you are using, but it might be possible. Nice job on the drone though! I’m building a drone myself and I’m making videos about it. I’m using an f450 drone frame and it’s a great place to start. I was thinking of upgrading the frame so I can be set if I ever want to upgrade things like motors for a heavy lift drone configuration. If I end up doing so, I will probably switch to a Pixhawk system as well.

hey, amazing build . I think for better footage you should set your gopro mode on linear with hypersmooth .And for future acquisition the gopro hero 9 with it's max lens mode could give you the horizon level feature for even better footage. I love your work

Good to have it back in the air! But in my opinion it is still too heavy. Replace the LiPo battery with a Lithium Ion pack. Same capacity less weight. 👍
@builtfromhome92074 жыл бұрын
I will have to look into Lithium ion packs.
@mtcdrones3 жыл бұрын
I was considering using a 6s liion pack but was not sure if lipo was better. Lots of conflicting info.
@mariofpv3 жыл бұрын
@@mtcdrones a large quad like this will not do crazy acro. It’s mainly for long range, easy relaxed flights so you don’t really need the Amps of a lipo battery. Li-Ion batteries are more suitable for large quads.🍻😊

Great job. A lot more stable than it was the last time. Were you flying strictly with just the radio or are you doing the autopilot with the mapping software? Looked it you were just using the radio. Will you be doing a video on using autopilot with point to point software? I think that could be an interesting video.
@builtfromhome92074 жыл бұрын
Yeah i was only using the radio to fly it around. I would like to try some missions in mission panner though some day.

Hi, looking for some help. I'm running a similar setup, I'm running the Tarot 4008 330kv motors with folding props, how are you able to stop the props from crashing into the motors when you stop or disarm the quad? My motors stop super sudden and combined with the momentum of the props, crash pretty hard back onto the motor itself. Granted I'm running a dual blade 1555 tarot folding props, they get dinged real bad. I think its in my esc but even "brake on motor stop" in blheli can't seem to fix the problem. Can you screenshot your esc screen or give any advise on my setup?
