Thanks so much! I struggled a lot with this build and understanding the documentation. I knew I couldn't be the only one. I'm glad I've been able to help out so many others.

I'm building a 4G drone with a similar frame. Using the frame power distribution board, I think fried my lipo. I may try with your power distribution board used here. My multimeter says my soldiers are good. Howdy, from Houston.

Hi, can you please tell me which motors you use, the link is missing on the site? Thank you
@jalpa96424 жыл бұрын
I've completed my build of the same exact S500 frame, may I suggest on the Frame that you use Loctite Blue Thread Sealer..! Vibration will loosen screws over time. Also use on Motor Arms and Plates(top & bottom) and Mounting Motors..! I also noticed that your ESC's have 2 Signal wires: White=Signal, Black= Ground..! The black ground should have gone to the Black Power wire, twisted together because it is the ground for the Signal..! All Black wires need to go to a common ground connection.
@AlexFache4 жыл бұрын
I have not had issues with screws coming loose but loctite is definitely something I'll be using on future quads just in case. From past experience I haven't had issues with the ESC not being grounded however you bring up a really important point and the ESC signal really should be grounded for a proper connection.
@philparisi_4 жыл бұрын
For grounding the black signal wire, can we solder it to the same ground pad used for powering the ESC (i.e. thick black power wire and thin signal wire both on the GND plate)?? Thank you! Great video by the way Alex!
@jalpa96424 жыл бұрын
@@philparisi_ Any place on the Board that's a Common Ground Point is feasible, all ground's connect to a Common Ground Point and returned to the battery to complete the circuit...!

@@philparisi_Yes all GND pads are internally connected.

Hi, I am a big fan of your series, I am currently working on the same device as you but my motors are refusing to turn on, do you have any suggestions on how to fix that. I did not build the drone myself but I followed all of your calibration advice, not sure if there is a trick to getting it to work but I would love recommendations

In what step of the process are you? Do you have a remote connected and can see it's stick values in QGroundControl in the remote page? Are you arming the quad/remote is bound?

Is it normal for the Power Management board to heat up? I am using a similar setup with Pixhawk 4, Power Management Board, and 11.1 V lipo battery.
@AlexFache3 жыл бұрын
Maybe a little bit but if it's getting unbearably hot then check your wiring and look for any damage.

I am thinking about building a 7 inch quad with a pixhawk4 mini, do I need to buy esc with bec or not? Also do I need a separate power manage board or can I use the pixhawk one? Great video btw!
@AlexFache3 жыл бұрын
Using a bec is totally up to you however I do recommend it for it's simplicity in powering other components. The question you should ask yourself is how are you going to power your flight controller instead? If you are already getting a pixhawk with the power managment then you can use that since it integrates nicely with it. Otherwise you'll need to figure out how to connect your esc pwm inputs to the pixhawk

Does the Pixhawk 4 have GPS built in or do you need the additional GPS module? thanks!

You need the additional gps module. Usually this comes with Pixhawk 4 kits but make sure to check the included parts.
