Hi Jeanne, I had instinctively started using a Chakra spread and so am heartened to see this reinforced by someone I respect so much. I adore the practicality of this approach. Thanks as always.

I'm insufficiently conversant with chakra theory to comment overall, but I can pass along RJ Stewart's definition of grace: "Having the knowledge without having had to have the experience." Thank you, as always, for an intriguing prism on the cards.

Thank you very much for this great idea of using the cards! For me, pain in the knees means submission to someone. Perhaps the Justice card reversed means that you suffer because of someone's injustice; and the 5 of Swords card in reverse may mean don't give up and don't submit to that someone.

Hi, Jeanne. The Eight of Swords (in rev.), the blessed Ace of Cups and the Three of Cups are arranged in a triangle, a symbol of unity (Tres collegium faciunt. Fortitudo). The situation of the Eight of Swords looks dire. This hás to end. It's like your spread is saying: "last chance to get gas (petrol); fill up, before entering the desert, for then it will be too late!" The good Ace of cups/Hearts: being o p e n to receive (much needed, powerful and wholesome love). Walk away and you're gone (Eight of Swords), to find yourself in a much better situation (Ace of cups). Three of Cups: Connectedness; Unity. I'm sure you know this one: Vivamus atque amemus (mea lesbia) vita brevis est. Socialize, now, to be Healthy, Happy and Whole (like XVII The Star, she who escaped from "the tower of horrors"). Join in. Bruce Lee (Jeet Kune Do) would say to the Eight of Swords:"don't think, féél". You are, of course, absolutely right with your interpretation pertaining "the knees": don't put too much pressure on these joints. No "weight-lifting"! (sensitive and balancing scales weigh). Over-doing it will damage (hurt) your knees (the Five of Swords depicts a h u r t f u l person). You are a psychologist, Jeanne!

Agreed, that 8 Swords is such a common card of how the mind creates problems that may not actually exist. Thanks for viewing and posting your comment.
