Mountain Hopper Adrian is a true inspiration to all. His realistic, unspun, unfussy, in your face delivery is a breath of fresh air. He doesn't try to be cool and polished. He doesn't smile smugly, or try to be slick, unlike some others. Complete realism, warts and all ! Keep it going.

Adrian, I did my first hooped bivvy camp (Alpkit Elan) last Thursday night in the Great Dun fell area. I also used a small tarp. Loved it. I loved that I could see the stars through my mesh screen and didn’t have to get out of the sleeping bag to take a night shot. I thought I’d try a bivvy because I think you’re right about the wet and windy winters going forward. Also you can pretty much pitch anywhere in a bivvy. Nice one mate.
@northumberlandmountainhopper6 ай бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching, glad you liked the bivy, no turning back I think, as the benefits are huge, pitch views etc, only drawbacks are space (but I sit out under the tarp) and midges are harder to avoid. Cheers

Hi and thanks for watching, glad you liked it, I don’t think you can beat a tarp and bivy, but it’s love it or hate it, just try it, it beats being in a tent for the views and watching the sky as you go to sleep. The wind has not eased in months Cheers from the uk

Hi Craig, yes a good camp in the end, honestly the Dutch bivy is now my favourite the hood Leeds all the draughts out, and lets you have a bit of ventilation via the opening, no moisture at all in the time I have had it,never before have I had so many camps with a dry foot box on the sleeping bag Cheers Adrian

Always gotta have a plan D 🤔😂 (just messing 😉) How blessed you were to wake up to that beautifully calm and sunny morning eh. And lucky to find the mic! Nice one!
@northumberlandmountainhopper6 ай бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching, voice over, I had to do as I had no audio due to water on my cable connections !! As for a bivy got to be army either open as per British or a hooped one, and must be goretex or three layer laminate, hooped bivy definitely less condensation as you get less draughts due to the hood and this lets you leave it open a bit at the side, where the British army one I tend to cinch it up to lessen draughts and as such maybe get a small touch of condensation at the foot end. Mind we all sleep differently and with different heat. Cheers
