TARP AND BIVY Forest Camp with an Ex-Forces Veteran.

Greetings all and thanks for tuning in
I head out for a charity sleep-under-the-stars with an ex-forces friend.
I get introduced to lots of British issue forces gear and rations, I also am shown how to put up a tarp and have my first night sleeping under one!
Mat (veteran buddy) talks about the difficulties facing soldiers leaving service, and how they can often become homeless as a result of not being able to cope with the "outside wold"
I had lots of fun making this as always, and lots of new experiences were had.

I lived, played and worked in the Cambrian mountains and pine forests of mid Wales for decades. You can’t beat a hammock and tarp. During the day it’s a settee to lounge around in and at night I sleep flat diagonally with my dogs either side. You’re also more in tune with your surroundings than when you’re in a tent and comfort is second to none. Even if it’s chucking it down, I can cook breakfast and pack up in the dry and take my tarp down at the last minute. Great video btw.👍

I've never used a hammock, would love to. There's a lot you can do with them I'm told!

They should’ve done it with a 58 pattern large pack and the old style poncho ( if you know, you know😊)…that would’ve been impressive 👍🏻

My grandfather told me about fox holes from ww1 he was royal engineers sappers. Very interesting being former RN we did not do much on land survival we left tbat to the marines mostly.
