Cool camp Adrian, liked the comparison between the 2 bivvys, you know the one I'd go for all day lol, I think sometimes the issue with American gear (hiking gear) is, it's not tough enough for our environment, which seems weird given there diverse geography over there, yes it's light, but not tough enough ,just my thoughts, hope you felt better later on, I've not done the jabs thus winter, see how it goes, I'll have to do a video on my tarp setups using shockcord that's incorporated into my guylines and a new find for when I peg my tarp too the ground, cushions the tarp ,protection of the tarp in high winds ,stops flapping to a degree too, maybe of use, for people in high wind areas, stunning sunrise, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig

Hi and thanks for watching, glad you enjoy the videos, It’s all about choice, I just love the openness of the tarp, like this time I lifted my head and there was the red sky, I would use one of my tents if I felt I needed too as I say, choice, Cheers Adrian

@@northumberlandmountainhopper I've seen a video of someone using the 3 x 3 to make a "Hexpeak" tent. A very stable pyramid configuration. I think it was Paul Messner. It only used one hiking pole in the centre but it looked very storm worthy.
@northumberlandmountainhopperАй бұрын
@@frederickridall628hi I have tried it, but too much like a tent for me, perhaps I will show it on a video, The dd super light is 2.8x3 where the normal heavy tarp is 3x3 and it’s easier to tension in my opinion and efforts, Cheers Adrian

I really enjoy your videos …. they bring back memories . I know that area well and have been into the cave you mentioned several times ... the route to it can be dangerous when there is snow on the ground and the final access is by going down steps … folk lore has it that it goes all the way to The Cheviot … it does not . I reckon your Bivvy Location was but a couple of km from another favourite place of mine … a lone Rowan Tree surrounded by an anti Deer fence and at the base are a number of memorials ….. occasionally flowers are / were left at the location .

Oh you seem to have removed my comment correcting your pronunciation of the word Cheviot. As I explained,the word has only one "e" in it. Just say it how it's spelled Why are you so sensitive about this, you obviously don't come from the area, so you may not have known.
@northumberlandmountainhopperАй бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching,sorry but I have not removed a comment, I would always answer it, it’s the fun of posting to share thoughts etc, I am from the midlands so I just say it as I see it lol I will watch for this, certainly not sensitive lol, See if you can post the comment again,did you post it on this video ? @toonmag50Ай бұрын
@@northumberlandmountainhopper no records of a comment that "never made it" I don't normally correct folks use of words ,but ,as the Cheviots mark most of the northern part of the English -Scottish border ,then I think it's only right to be clear. Think of the US actor Chevy Chase - the "chev" in Cheviots is the same. I think,as you're from the midlands you may be aware how the Welsh folk feel about their place names !
