After months of searching, I have finally found an unnamed waterfall in the Blue Mountains that I can camp at without anyone ever bothering me.
In this video I camp under my Alton tarp and sleep in my Snugpak Jungle Bag.
In the future I may build a bushcraft home here...

Happy you enjoyed :) This is really the first proper camping video I've done for an audience. Basically everything on my channel to this point has purely been for me and my friends to watch. I've created a camping playlist on my channel if you want to check it out. I used to make a lot of music videos too, which I still do on occasion and will post here. I've made another playlist just for all of those Thanks again for watching.

Loved that vid, the quality is akin to what someone with 100x your subs would do. Glad it was in my suggested vids :) And was that an Estwing axe? I have one too! I love scorpions by the way, and tarantulas too... I have about 26 scorpions and 34 tarantulas as pets (as well as a few reptiles and terrestrial crabs). I don't know how I'd feel about them if I were camping though :P We don't have any scorpions or tarantulas occurring naturally over here in the Netherlands, so luckily I don't need to worry about that. PS: I'd still boil the water. Contamination doesn't need to be man-made... any dead animals upstream would do the trick :)

Thanks for the compliments Emiel :) Yes it was an Estwing. I love mine, it’s a great little hatchet. Wow that’s quite the creature collection haha, do you need lots of tanks for that? You’re right about the animals, too. I’ll always boil or purify in future (just bought a purifier) and only drink straight from this source if I absolutely have to.

@@RyanWorsman I haven't used mine much so far, but I'm planning to use it in the future when I'm harvesting our first meat chickens (after stunning them with a bolt g*n), and maybe if me and my wife go camping (32 hour government job and no driver's license, so unfortunately I don't have too much time to go camping.. and no means to get anywhere except for my bike). Sure do! Every animal is in a separate container :) Some are in a glass terrarium, but I keep most of them in plastic food containers with holes I drill into them. Good idea! I also need to get a purifier... I'm a bit of a prepper, so that could always come in handy!

Hello From Canada .... So hey man very good video's so far. I know this video is 4 weeks old but it's the one that got my attention...Very nice set up but it looks cold . i like the boots, what type of boots are those ?...and what kind of socks would you recommend?..i recently bought Dakota hiking shoes but i wasn't happy with them and i also bought Black thin nylon dress socks because i was told it works best on long hikes, they dry faster and less sweat aguess i'll find out , I'm just starting, i'm new to this
@RyanWorsman
@RyanWorsman Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching mate. My boots are "Men's Earthkeeper Original Leather 6" by Timberland. They're probably more for working than bushwear, they don't do as well on longer hikes as you can feel a little bit of rubbing on the base, but other than that they're indestructible and great, fairly waterproof too. As for socks I always take extremely thick and woolly socks to cushion my feet from blisters and friction- regardless of the heat outside. Good luck on your adventures.

What a wonderful place, you are so lucky to have found it. You have an eye for the beauty of nature, very nice and great filming job! Where I live contamination in that kind of situation may come from something that died in the water upstream or feces from animals there as well. I am not sure what pathogens the wildlife in your area carry. Thanks for sharing your secret spot, look forward to seeing you back there. :) :)

I like your choices of some non-conventional tools. I own one of those hatchets - good choice. Well done. And then I googled the Blue Mountains and well, maybe not everyone in your area feels the need to own Council Tool axes and Silky Saws. Enjoyed the show very much.

@@RyanWorsman of course treating and boiling is always the way to go, but from the vid looks like it's purely a hanging swamp feeding the waterfall - meaning any water in there is in pretty good condition. wouldn't have too many worries myself!

Epic spot mate. I know what you mean about the spiders and scorpians. I was cowboy camping last year and a big huntsmen and scorpian were spotted on the ground at night around the fire haha I hated it. Now I always sleep with a bug net and I have no shame in the matter. Great video.

The question baffled me, what about predators?
@RyanWorsman
@RyanWorsman Жыл бұрын
There are no predators in Australia thankfully. It’s the little creatures on the floor that will kill you though. Have to watch out for Funnelweb spiders here, they can kill within 15 minutes if you’re bitten and get a high dose. The snakes can be pretty bad too.

@@RyanWorsman Amazing, I love Australia As for camping here in southwestern Saudi Arabia, it must be a shelter. Hyenas, wolves, lynxes, and black snakes, which have the greatest toxicity in the world, are present here in abundance, as well as yellow scorpions that are highly toxic.
