Finally, after owning a Tarptent Scarp 1 for about 4 years, I'm doing just a brief review of a tent that really suits my needs. I did have to have to order it from the USA, so you have to add some expected import taxes.
For me it performs well in all weathers plus it's got a variety of ventilation methods, so condensation is rarely a problem.
Here is the link to the manufactures and website.

I see the newer version has been updated with some good features.
This was only my second wild camp this year in the beautiful and rugged Moelwyn range of Snowdonia, and was blessed with fine weather! The rest of the video will hopefully give you a flavour of the area where I camped.

thats a great review Pete on a tent that I am becoming more and more interested in as it looks to be roomy but also Ideal for on the Mountain, seen a number of people using this tent pitched high on a mountain and in heavy weather with no Bother, my question is what is the smallest in length it will pack down to, ie will it fit in my rucksack across not down, Massive apologies Mate for the late comment but hopefully if all goes well as and when able I can get back out and do my long awaited (show us your steak) video may explain the long absence, I must check out this Area it looks a great place to explore and camp, I hope you and yours have all kept safe and well Pete, hope you get back out soon Mate, Les.

Hiya Les. To be honest although I love tent it isn't the most compact tent lengthwise, and I would normally pack the poles vertically seperately in my pack. Also the grounsheet tends to be very slippery, so you do need a pretty level pitch or I usually slide off my mat in the night. I'm sure these these things can be sorted, and otherwise it's never let me down in about 10 to 12 outings. Good luck getting out soon Les. I've been dieting, lost over a stone and hopefully fitter and will get out again this season! Take care mate. Pete

Thanks Pete, really useful. The tarp 1 looks like a quality product....wish it didn't cost so much!

Most informative video thank you. I keep meaning to push the button on one of these for use in harsher conditions and on summits, although my Hexpeak is a pretty good all-rounder.

Hi Pete. can you realistically fit 2 people in this for odd occasions

Hi Paul. I reckon you could, but you'd have to be close friends and it would be pretty snug. Loads of room for one though and great to have 2 porches.

I've never had a problem as the tent has several ways of ventilation Julie.

Nice video Pete. How much did you pay in import tax if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks Bruce! Well I bought it about 4 years ago, so I think it cost me about £30 in import taxes back then.

Nice review - do you think this tent can handle winter conditions 😊🇩🇰
@petemarsden9431

Yes I think so with the extra external poles in place. That would take the weight up to about 1.8kg I think from around 1.5 Kg without.

Thanks Pete - nice that it can handle winter conditions - the weight is maybe a little bit heavy don't you think or is it worth it ⛺️

Nice review! Did you make the added guyouts yourself?

Thanks Dan! I just added the 2 end guylines but the attachments are already there on the flysheet. I sometimes use a trekking pole at each end to raise the roof a little which gives a touch more separation between outer and inner.

Are the inner roof panels as saggy as they look in the video ? Really cuts into interior space.

To be honest Michael, I'd never had that happen before so I think it was a case of uneven ground and me just rushing it a bit. There was next to no wind so I didn't have to make sure it was that tight.
