What I like and what makes Tartaros different from Grimoire Heart and the Oracion Seis is that they start things off by immediately killing the ruling body of the entire world of Magic and massacring a bunch of people. It shows how different of a threat they are compared to the others FT has faced so far.

The Tartaros Arc episode title drop sequence is by far and away my favorite in the series. Jackal came in with a bang (pun intended 100%) and I love how he and Tempester later proves Tartaros' threat level to be beyond whatever the Fairy Tail gang has faced before. Mashima-sensei has gone pretty dark in his other series (Rave Master and Edens Zero) and he's been there in FT as well in numerous occasions. This is FT's darkest and most intense arc (that also includes Eclipse), also the favorite of most fans (including me, marginally surpassing the final season). Not so fun fact: the Anti-Ethernanos in the dub are called "bane particles" and I kinda prefer that over the former

I was awfully sad to see Laxus get taken out of the fight so early in the arc. But he does take down one of Tartaros' big guns in the process, which is some consolation.

Heck, in the dub, they actually go with demon slayer instead of devil. Though maybe it would’ve been better to go with “devil” in retrospect since it differentiates from the anime, Demon Slayer.

Tartaros effortlessly defeats The Magic Council and 3/4 of The Thunder Legion. THAT is how you make an entrance. Also, this arc has my favorite title screen ost. RIP to Lahar and Master Org. Both came around to liking The Fairy Tail Guild and Org was 100% correct about what Tartaros was doing to their subordinate guilds aka what Kyoka did to Succubus Eye; weeding out the weak members and acquiring the strong ones.

I like org's last words in the english version better. Because it's way more emotional than live to avenge us. "Find what justice means to you and protect it until the end, thats an order". I feel like those are much more comforting words than live to avenge us because revenge always leads people down to a dark path and it's very difficult to get out of it.

What's more sad is that, Yes Laxus saved those close to his perimeter. But for the rest of the city, it's as if his sacrifice is in vain cause there's many civilians who still died. And note what Porlyusica said. Laxus and the other may survive, but it wasn't sure if they could 100% recover. Especially for Laxus who inhaled those mist. So this might be one of the best arcs, story wise. But it's also so dark there's many more tears and sacrifices to go.

Devil and demon are (mostly) the same word (悪魔, Akuma) in Japanese. They are same thing in the show. Although Fairy Tail only use katakana of devil (デビル) when come to term of devil slayer. It's likely the original/Japanese version never used word demon (デーモン) at all.
