i'm glad to hear someone else talk about the difficulty of applying a second layer over dry mascara. I go with one coat for the same reason. I also spend a lot less time than most people I see on youtube applying mascara. I don't do lower lashes to prevent rub off or flaking under my eyes.

I like to apply it to my bottom lashes but I have to admit it only looks good for the first couple of hours 🙂

I use both of these mascaras only. However, the Tarte mascara behaves & performs better. I've used Essence for years. Best cheap mascara ever. I use it on "short" days (to save $). It transfers after long hours, and hardens faster when applying, so if you do 2 coats, better do it fast. Tarte is my buddy for long 12-14 hours workday. It never transfers, it allows for 2 coats easily, lasts all day. It is much better quality and performance than the Essence mascara. Guaranteed to get your lashes noticed 💙💙

Yes I definitely like the Tarte one more too, but I think the Essence one is super similar and the price is amazing!

They’re both hypoallergenic as well! I’m allergic to almost every mascara I’ve tried, but these are amazing!

My Pretty Everything most of them suck. The 18 hour people talk about is just tar you put on your lashes to get all your lashes sticking together.

It’s a great mascara, I absolutely love it! The only issue is that I get the same results with the Essence one and it’s 10 times cheaper

There are more than 2 versions of the Essence. If you are comparing, you should get them all.

Thank you for your review. I've never tried essence but tried tarte and didn't like it. I still like Lancolm Monsier big that often goes on sale for half price at 12 50. I heard a lot about essence but not seen it in my drug store. I'm sure Wal-Mart has it. The essence looks better on you.

I heard a lot of good things about that Lancome mascara, I’ll make sure to pick it up soon! I’ve only ever tried Hypnose from Lancome

@@AnikoVargaMakeup both are good, hypnose drama is good but rarely goes on sale. The other goes half price at sephora about 4 times a year.
