I am the son of Syrians and was born in Brazil. I took my first trip to Syria in 2014 and stayed in Tartus. I really liked the city and coast of Tartus and the walks there. When watching your video, I was surprised to see that there are small shops, stalls on the coast and the train that takes families for a ride. Some things have changed and I hope to be able to visit Syria once again. Congratulations on the video and for showing the city of Tartus to the world. Indeed, the State of Tartus did not suffer any damage or destruction during the war. I hope peace returns to Syria.

I was there in 2010. You can really see that it's at the Mediterranean and influences from neighboring countries. In both Latakia and Tartus clothing is more liberal and people speak good English. Then again the whole of Syria was amazing and it was interesting to see the differences in different parts of the country.
