Great perspective as usual, champ. I’m a big fan of Benavidez but I feel like he makes mistakes with his feet and leaves himself in vulnerable positions. He applies so much pressure though, I feel like no one has been able to stand there and take advantage of those mistakes…everyone just eventually ends up in retreat mode. I understand the experience advantage but do you think Morrell is finally the guy who can take advantage of those footwork issues? I just think Morrell clearly has the better feet.

I think Tarver's analysis is spot on. I think any way you slice this, these two fighters had to meet in the ring. Morrell needs to continue his experience in fighting more elite competition to see what he is really made of. And Benavidez is the perfect candidate for Morrell's campaign to be considered a great fighter in the sport of boxing. Benavidez also needs this fight to prove to the world just how great he really is and Morrell is the perfect opponent. Because in reality, to this day and this fight; this will be Benavidez most skilled boxer he has fought in the ring. I think this fight will start off fast and get nasty. Don't get me wrong I like both fighters. I just think Benavidez will get Morrell in the later rounds and this ends in a knockout. I think at the end of the night, Morrell is going to take way too many punches that are going to not only add up; but will culminate into a knockout for Benavidez. We all know Benavidez is a touch fighter who can take a punch. I just think Morrell takes too many punches when he's skilled enough that he doesn't have to. This is going to be that fight to find out just how solid his chin really is. I just don't think his chin is going to be solid enough by the 10th or 11th rounds. Morrell is young, strong, skilled...very talented, with great Ring IQ; but he's dumb when it comes to defense. Lack of defense is going to be his downfall tonight.
