In the original book Tarzan finds the books and pictures his human parents left behind and knows he's like those pictures and not like his ape family. As all those pictures show shaven men Tarzan diligently shaved his face as well to match them. So all depictions of Tarzan with a shaved face ARE accurate to the source material.

The movie was a box office success in 1981, but critics and audiences were disgusted even calling it one of the worst movies of all time! It was nominated for so many Razzies and ultimately it “won” one for Bo Derek as Worst Actress alongside Faye Dunaway in Mommie Dearest (she won another 2 awards for Bolero in 1984 and Ghosts Can’t Do It in 1990)

Of course audiences of disgusted men made sense in 1981. It was patently obvious that men were threatened by a 27 year old man with an exquisite body, including those well-shaped long legs. O'Keeffe was gorgeous in 1981 and in 2020 he still IS. Those same disgusted men from 1981 were still moaning and groaning from 1978 when they did the same thing to Cris Reeve portraying Superman. Why is it OK for men to ogle Bo Derek, but it's not OK for women to ogle gorgeous men like Miles O'Keeffe? Nice little double standard, eh?

I just thought of something ironic: there are females who would watch Miles O'Keeffe taking out the trash or washing his car because they appreciate a real man who isn't afraid to flaunt his maleness. And in this movie, HE was the best eye candy any woman would appreciate. He's a beautiful man with a beautiful body. He could leave that loincloth beside the bed any time he darn well pleases! Yet, the "reviewers" said he couldn't act. How would they know when he didn't say a word? Have they seen any other work he's done? Check it out.

The reason that she was called the most exotic woman of our time is because she didn't tease us guys with her body like most of the actresses in that day did with just bikini shots.She showed full body nudity both front and back. And you've got to admit, O'Keeffe did have a physically perfect body at the age of 27 when he did Tarzan. He's still gorgeous and has a sense of humor you'd never expect. I don't know why Bo Derek's husband John would have approved of his own wife doing so much nudity in an "R" rated movie. But I've seen the "X" rated version of Tarzan, but you still only see full nudity by Bo, and not Miles O'Keeffe. That is ONE big dude, but if he wanted to go flying with me in my Cessna 150, I'd find a way for him to fit inside the tight little cabin! Naturally guys love Bo for obvious reasons. But there are those of us women, who still adore Miles O'Keeffe. He's a great dude.

It's amazing how (a) terrible the dialogue is and (b) how unbelievably boring this trailer is. Aside from Richard Harris and Bo Derek making asses of themselves saying some of the dumbest stuff imaginable, there's nothing here to grab your interest. We aren't seeing Tarzan doing anything exciting and awesome, we aren't seeing any kind of danger or threat that needs to be vanquished...there's just nothing here. This trailer isn't even trying to hide the fact that this is just a glorified soft porn that poached the Tarzan name. How did they expect anyone to be interested in this film? Even from this, it looked like crap.
