Fun fact: The animation at the start of the match with Alex and Hugo staring each other down is a reference to the legendary staredown between Hulk Hogan and André the Giant at Wrestlemania III's main event. Coincidentally, Hugo was designed after André, with his SFV outfit resembling the attire André wore usually.

That was invented around the mid 90s by Snk when they were at the top in innovation, and then it expanded through the fg world, but after some time companies stopped reusing it, including Snk itself in the 00s. Nowdays it looks like the game that most respects that legacy of creativity of the classic Snk (90s) is surprisingly MK. Not even the current Snk respects that.
