If you hold the analog stick slightly in a direction, the tikis don't hide. I moved at the highest analog stick value that was still within the range where the tikis stay visible. Spongebobs walking animation actually plays at this value, instead of tiptoeing, apparently.

nah, it's actually pretty cool, but it's a lot more glitch/route oriented. The general movement in this game isn't the focus, it's more about using situational exploits/extreme subpixel optimization for max speed on the various cruise boosts and displacement boosts. Check out the levels at 17:46 or 35:25, they're great imo
