Incredible how you are getting this much control where you let swarms of enemies get that close to you! Does PlayStation mean you're using a joystick? I don't know what that setup looks like. I have only my keyboard arrow keys with online version and I can't let even 2 or 3 get that close to me ever. What does tool assisted mean? That's what enables this control? Very clever strategies.

I can answer some of your questions 1)Tool assisted is where he pushes buttons frame by frame 2)Idk if he is using a joystick but if you get an emulator called epsxe and downloaded this rom (namco museum vol 3) the you could play dig dug with a controller. :)

Think of an emulator as a game console (exept on your computer) and the roms are the games the emulator lets you play the downloaded roms so basically you can get any ps1 game for free. The emulator he is using is called bizhawk and you can get it here tasvideos.org/BizHawk.html and you can get roms (games) here www.emuparadise.me/ On bizhawk you can get ps1, n64, atari 7800, 2600 and 5200, NES, Snes, etc. :)

Sam Labbato No. The score counter will reset back to 00 and start counting up again like it it when the game first started but he would have had 1,000,000 points though if he had continued past 999,990 points.

+wawawaworld would end the round before he reaches a perfect score, each tile he digs is worht 10 points so he needs to game over with the same movement that reaches the perfect score else it will overflow and display 0 points

Tas means tool assisted speedrun he is using a special emulator so that he can do it frame by frame and use save states if he makes a mistake :)

If tool assisted means that pooka and fygar don't speed up in the later rounds then yeah I can see this. Otherwise this is BS. I would not be taking credit for a 999990 score playing like this. You do it at normal settings where they start speeding up and getting after your ass which is round 8 and then I will respect your ability. I can do on the arcade machine on normal settings.

It is probably a software bug of this game "ON PLAYSTATION" that pooka and fygar don't speed up until a first mistake.The same phenomenon happens on real game console.

OP, if you're not talking about the obvious increase in speed from level to level, then you're thinking of what only began to happen on the last level that the tas-er plays here (where the tune changes briefly then speeds up along with the enemies). You're right to recall that phenomenon, but you're wrong in that you forget how it works. Starting at level 4, once a certain number of enemies are left (initially 2) the theme will play and everything will go faster. The reason it never happens here is because the player doesn't kill enemies one by one; all 4-8 of them die at once to the same rock so it bypasses that part of the code altogether.

Yeah, at higher levels the enemies INSTANTLY start teleporting out of their holes. They're coming at you from all angles and you can only pump horizontally or vertically. It wouldn't be possible to beat them playing this way.
