@@malcovich_games they mentioned in the discussion thread for this TAS that because it doesn't start from power on with a clean save that they'd have to redo a ton. Eventually may record it but it's not quite as interesting to them

This is awesome, but having watched only the beginning so far, I'm impressed that this game even manages to railroad a TAS. TAS for Other Games: "So I'm going to hit this block at just the right corner, and there, I've skipped 3 hours of gameplay." TAS for Metroid Fusion: "With the power of computers, I can get through the agonizingly long mandatory cutscenes 0.01 seconds faster than humanly possible." Good game, but you'd think the devs might have lightened up a little on making sure everyone plays the game exactly the "right" way.

Sequence breaking in Metroid Fusion has been around for years through memory corruption. It just doesn't make for an interesting TAS.

Never had any issue with how linear the game is, it did everything so well that I never even thought about it while playing, I was too afraid of SA-X.

people are complaining about fusion's linearity, but all i see is a damn good tas, with some cool skips in it, even if they're small ones. and to my knowledge, fusion can't be sequence broke while still being playable, due to the events system.

A Metroid game that manages to completely miss the point of Metroid. The immersive atmosphere of its predecessors is ditched in favor of a bunch of annoying text boxes and cutscenes. Cool TAS though.

I don't know about that. The game has its share of navigation puzzles, and i really like what it was doing with the story. It's more linear, yes, but it uses that to build suspense and atmosphere unlike any other games in the series. It pulled off everything it was going for very well.

This game is not as good as the previous ones, mostly because the creator died before this came out and the new team introduced a lot of cringy shit. While the new elements introduced into the game are decent, most of it was ruined by the completely unnecessary plot dialogue that was badly written. Also the previous games rewarded you for exploring and finding secrets, this game however hides most of the extra stuff towards the very end of the game so you can't be overpowered when playing through it. IMO this was a stupid STUPID design flaw and is one of the main reasons why I didn't play this more than twice. Despite the glaring problems mentioned above, it's an OK game at best.

No idea what the main comment is talking about and I’m sad that 5 people actually agree with it. This is one of the best Metroid games out there. The suspense build up in this game makes it extremely atmospheric. People still talk about being scared for their life when the SA-X appeared lol.
