Kio The Hedgehog basically it’s a speed run. These guys were most likely practicing for months getting the level layout, strategies to use, glitches to take advantage of, etc. long story short, it takes months of practice to do a proper speed run, especially when it comes to pixel perfect moments used in some of these clips.

This has to be the best TAS of Sonic 2 I've ever seen. So cinematic, so much personality...I could literally feel the dialogue and hypothetical conversations Sonic and Tails were having throughout the run. Heck, at times, I was even waiting for the acts to finish (which would notably take less than half a minute) so I could see the end-of-act skits, such as playing tag, or trying to out-moonwalk each other. Absolutely Awesome. I'm glad I found this!

So, the absolute fastest that one can go in-game is 11 minutes and 14 seconds. Which pretty much averages out to an average of 1:01 per zone. And if you remove the 2:05 from Sky Chase, that's basically 9:09 seconds to clear all the other stages at the absolute fastest. And all of that's assuming that many of these tricks can even be done by a human. For the longest time, 0:19 was theorized to be the hypothetical fastest that one can go in Emerald Hill 1. And even then, most people wind up getting 0:20 at the absolute fastest. So I'm guessing the trick pulled off in Emerald Hill 1 might be flat-out impossible to pull off by a human.
