In part three of the Streets of Rage series, Mr. X is back and this time his plan involves replacing public officials with his own robots. Only Axel, Blaze, Skate, and newcomer Dr. Zan can stop him. Streets of Rage 3 features all of the beat 'em up action you would expect from a Streets of Rage game.
One new feature is the special move power bar, where it only costs energy to do a special move if the bar isn't full. Also new is the ability to do special maneuvers with different weapons, depending on the character. For example, Skate has no special move with the pipe, but he does have one with the knife. The opposite is true for Axel. Any weapon Dr. Zan picks up is turned into energy balls which he can throw at the enemies. Secret characters and multiple endings also add replay value.
In this run, watch atro city ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/a... ) stylishly dispose of a lot of thugs and robots using Blaze and Dr. Zan, clearing a long game in only about 38 minutes. A glitch is used which does damage much more quickly when two characters attack multiple enemies at the same time. For more details, read the submission comments ( tasvideos.org/3984S ).

This was around the time where Sega was more than a little too hands-on with localization; Most famously the "Ash-dropping"; Changed many colors around; Nerfed all the characters, added too many enemies and called it "higher difficulty"; Rewrote the entire story and all the dialogue, so we get 6th-grade howlers like that line.

When I was a kid I always liked Nintendo better than Sega. However this game made me want a Sega. I would play this all the time with my uncles at my grandmother's house. Then I would play zelda on my Nintendo at home. Man I loved those days.

@@solarflare9078 My main problem with Western release is they ABSOLUTELY messed up with difficulty! As result we have enemies with too much health and who take away much health! What's worse is there will be even more enemies whose health bars will also be increased if you're playing with 2 player!

I love that all the enemies feel peer pressured to jump into the super slap spot when you guys are doing the downward jump attack. "Hey they all got slapped 50x per second, I need this in my life too!"

I wish i could body slam Axel Robot with blaze like that hahaha Great TAS, i would've taken Axel though for more speed, he's faster in my opinion. The only thing i didn't saw in the run was the last boss AI break, you can basically break his AI and infinite combo him with axel and all the hit register.

I commented a while back that Sega of A made too many changes to the Japanese original, and one was to artificially increase difficulty by doubling the enemies and nerfing all the characters. If this was the original, it would take maybe half this long.

Nintendo wins in terms of visuals. Sega wins in terms of sound. Nintendo had better exclusives such as zelda, contra, double dribble, mike tyson punch out, mario bros, tecmo bowl, rbi baseball and so many more. However sega did have, streets of rage one two and three. Also had more adult fighting games like that one game I cant remember but it had 3 guys you fight with and it looked so real back then. Someone help me out. It was this fighting game where the guys were dressed like wrestlers but they were hard core street fighters in this like building with other people surrounding them. Omg please someone help me. What was the name of that game?

for me nintendo is like family friendly game. while sega give you straight badass game. just like robocop vs terminator. the snes version is like rated pg robocop 2014 you know family friendly, while sega ver. give you the original rated m robocop 1987 with full blood and gore.

the best thing Sega did was left Streets of Rage alone, if they continued probably would ruined the series, by no means SOR3 is a bad game, but it clearly shows fatigue compared to the past ones, so better end when the games are still good than destroy the franchise like they did with Golden Axe and many others
